“The midwives at StoneSprings Hospital Center, as well as the nursing staff in labor and delivery, are fantastic,” said Madison Tuohy. “They listen to you, explain anything you don't understand and make it a priority to make sure you feel comfortable.” As a licensed yoga therapist and wellness educator, Madison knew she wanted a birthing experience that reflected her values. Her choice to deliver with a midwife at StoneSprings Hospital Center was clear. “I wanted to be in the care of a midwife who understood my unique needs and was a part of my team,” said Madison. She was able to achieve a medication-free birth using hypnobirthing techniques and delivered her baby naturally, in a position that felt good for her body. “It felt empowering to accomplish that goal.” We’re grateful to Madison for sharing her story. A special thank you to our colleagues at StoneSprings Hospital Center — part of HCA Virginia Health System — for their compassionate, expert care before, during and after Madison’s labor and delivery.
