Engineered portable bridges are a game-changer in the construction industry, offering an easy-to-deploy clear span temporary solution for crossing waterways, ditches, underground utilities, and other obstacles. These bridges are essential for maintaining uninterrupted access and operations on construction sites. Properly designed bridges have known weight bearing capabilities, allows for easy lifting and installation with mid-size excavators or similar equipment, while being a sturdy and sustainable solution. These bridges, typically featuring structural steel weldments, are also geotextile compatible, helping to prevent debris from entering waterways and protecting the environment and satisfying permit requirements. With typical weight limits ranging from 65 to 100 tons and spanning distances of up to 12’, 35’ to 50’, portable bridges are versatile and reliable. They can be installed using traditional equipment commonly found on-site, ensuring a rapid set-up process that saves both time and money. Efficient shipping further enhances their cost-effectiveness, allowing construction teams to cross obstacles swiftly without compromising safety. Thank you to ComEd for getting the power back on so quickly after the storms last week and for choosing to use TerraLam mats in so many of those repair jobs! #EmergentWork #StormResponse #EmergencySiteAccess #TerraLam
Update from the field: While power was restored for our residential customers by the end of last week, some of our equipment serving industrial customers near Channahon sustained more significant damage. Our hardworking crews have continued to work around the clock for an entire week to restore these customers that were impacted by the 100+ mph winds that ripped through our service territory last Monday evening, and we're happy to share that we expect power to be restored early tomorrow morning.

Timber mats have long been used as short crossing bridges, however, safety could be an issue with them. Made from mixed hardwoods of differing quality with non-standard fasteners, the lack of consistency means they are not engineered for specific weight ratings or durability. Additionally, the wood is susceptible to rot and decay, often hidden from sight underneath the surface. These reasons are why engineered portable bridges exist. The Sterling TerraCross-1 is an engineered solution designed to solve the problems presented by timber mat bridges. Made from welded steel, these temporary bridges are just as easy to deploy but have known load bearing ratings and will never rot, meaning they provide consistent safety and performance at each and every crossing. Simply put, TerraCross-1 provides the certainty and comfort you require to get the job done, a guarantee not always afforded by traditional timber mats. https://lnkd.in/gNSGBBuf #SterlingTerraCross1 #ConstructionSafety #EngineeringExcellence #SterlingReputation #TemporaryBridge

The precision welds and reinforced sub-structure makes it a safe, reliable option for heavy-duty applications. The diamond tread surfaces provides traction, while heavy-duty alignment stakes and storage tubes maximize stability during deployment and transportation. The TerraCross-1 is not just a bridge; it's a versatile solution for the demanding needs of modern site access. Rated up to 65,000 lbs. with spans up to 25 feet but custom spans and capacities are available. https://lnkd.in/gNSGBBuf #SterlingTerraCross1 #ConstructionSafety #EngineeringExcellence #SterlingReputation #TemporaryBridge

Major storms can damage the infrastructure designed to keep people safe from flooding. Levees are generally the last major line of defense for overflowing rivers but are a major undertaking to get the equipment on site to handle repairs. Sterling's decades of site access experience and industry leading TerraLam mats means safe and stable temporary roads and staging areas that are quickly deployed, ready to accept repair crews and equipment. https://lnkd.in/gbjsTxe9 #SterlingSiteAccess #HurricaneRecovery #StormResponse #StormCleanUp #DiasterResponse #Flooding #DownedPowerLines #UtilityRepairs #HurricaneBeryl #LeveeRebuilds #FloodDamage

Storms can arrive at any time but the loss of power is most devastating at night. Repairs at night are also the most challenging as the condition of the ground is not as easily assessed. Day or night, Sterling can provide the safe, clear paths for heavy equipment and vehicles, enabling fast and efficient rebuilding. Our lightweight and highly durable TerraLam mats can quickly provide the temporary roads needed to access the most challenging sites. https://lnkd.in/gbjsTxe9 #SterlingSiteAccess #HurricaneRecovery #StormResponse #StormCleanUp #DiasterResponse #Flooding #DownedPowerLines #UtilityRepairs #HurricaneBeryl #TornadoRecovery
