Discussing the oncoming systems revolution and the reassembling of the top people at top companies. 🚀 Ahead of #Supercloud7, where #theCUBE will broadcast live for 2 days, here is a quick throwback to last year’s event in which John Furrier talks about the upcoming systems revolution and how gen AI is taking power away from the CDOs. “The systems revolution is coming. Of course, Broadcom's president loved it, because they're doing systems, and so does NVIDIA, because they're validating. Today, the customers are moving faster with this experimentation phase to set up new teams where it's not an easy sales motion to say, ‘Oh, that's the persona; let's go to market and sell something to them.’ It's not a person, it's a developer-led, cloud-native team,” Furrier shares. “It's interesting to see how gen AI is pulling the power away from the CDO (chief data officer) and the data players into the DevSecOps, because the data states, although they're established, become the crown jewels for gen AI. But that's not going to happen until the software actually runs on the infrastructure. In this highlight from #theCUBE’s special series for Google Cloud Marketplace Marvels, we hear from Stephen Orban, the VP of Migrations, ISVs, and Marketplace at Google Cloud, to explore the “uniqueness” of Elastic in the observability, security, and integration domains. “There's no other ISV or software company than Elastic that handles all of search observability and security in one wrapped up offering, which is uniquely integrated into so many of our different service lines. The models that we make available are great, but they're currently trained on publicly available data,” explains Orban. “Customers who are doing unique things with their gen AI capabilities, whether they're putting trained chatbots or customer service data, they need to be either tuned or augmented using retrieval augmented generation with data that they own and their own private data. Oftentimes, customers are already using Elastic as the storage layer for that corpus of data,” he adds. “Vertex is really helping accelerate some of our customers, gen AI, both proof of concepts and then ultimately getting them to production faster because we're able to collectively meet the customers where they are. Is the recent incident a “SolarWinds moment” for CrowdStrike? ⚠️ In last week’s #theCUBE Pod, David Vellante and John Furrier talked about how the recent CrowdStrike incident was completely different from the SolarWinds incident. “It’s not the “SolarWinds moment” for CrowdStrike, because there's no real breach here. It's just a disruption. There's going to be millions of dollars in, probably, fees. If I'm running a company like an airlines or whatever, I have to weigh the analysis of the trade-off back to the switching costs,” explained Furrier. “There's two analyses. If those numbers change on the spend, but let's stay on switching costs, it's not a SolarWinds moment because it didn't breach and there was no liability. It wasn't like things were taken out of the system like emails and assets. It was just massive disruptions,” he added. 🔔 New episode coming this week!

Why procurement needs to take a more active role in risk management ⚡ In an exclusive for #theCUBE we hear from Mastercard’s Pratik Patel on modern data management, where planning for a line of defense is among the strategic enablers for the role of procurement today. “From a risk perspective, we are the first and last lines of defense,” Patel says, going on to note the importance of understanding the intent behind an organization’s data for proper governance.  Moreso, procurement must also “be an influencer, in a sense, with the supplier to ensure they understand what risk they need to manage,” he furthers. “I think procurement needs to take a more proactive role in being able to help manage that risk… and then truly understanding [suppliers] so we can achieve satisfaction,” Patel says. 📰 More: https://lnkd.in/g3tdnPdz #EnterpriseTechNews

IRS’ data analytics and #GenAI approach 🚀 Watch this highlight from #theCUBE’s on-site reporting at #CDOIQSymposium, where our analysts sat with Melanie Krause, the COO of the Internal Revenue Service, to explore their recent projects and how they leverage gen AI and data analytics. “For a long time, we have leveraged data to inform case selection. For compliance activities, being able to quickly differentiate between tax returns that are likely to be compliant with tax laws from those who are not.
