Accelerating the energy transition in Berlin! Our new vacuum interrupter factory, where we are manufacturing climate-friendly switchgear products, is a clear commitment to climate-neutral power transmission and an important step towards net zero! With this €60 million investment, we are using industrially purified air for insulation and vacuum as the switching medium, instead of climate-damaging fluorinated gases (F-gases). This supports the EU F-gas Regulation which was designed to significantly reduce the use of F-gases and mitigate their impact on the environment. 💚

From Berlin to Saudi Arabia. Highly efficient gas turbines from our factory in the German capital will soon be used in Saudi Arabia. New power plants there will generate energy for the country's growing population and economy.

We love to celebrate the accomplishments of women in engineering like Maria, who are inspiring future female engineers, especially on International Women in Engineering Day. But we also recognize that work that still needs to be done to achieve a more inclusive and diverse engineering industry. So let’s continue to challenge stereotypes and encourage more girls and women to pursue careers in engineering. #INWED #inclusion #diversity

It is essential for us to have a safe environment that allows people to bring their best self to work, so that they can be at their most effective, their most creative and their most energetic. We are working hard to make that happen for everyone.

The path to a climate-friendly energy system also includes greater efficiency, which is why we are constantly working to generate more energy from the same amount of resources. And from time to time we set landmarks along the way: SSE Thermal's Keadby Unit 2 Power Station now holds the Guinness World Records title for most efficient combined cycle power station at 64.18%!

Norway’s extensive hydropower resources power more than 90% of electricity generation. Battery storage plays a crucial role in ensuring grid and frequency stabilization. What needs to happen to allow hydrogen to scale? That’s what Bill Gates and members of the Energy Resilience Leadership Group were discussing at their recent visit to our Berlin hydrogen centre. The scaling-up of energy projects and cleantech solutions require joint efforts from industry, policy makers and financial institutions – it’s clear we can’t do it alone.
