🌟 Winning by Making a Difference: Our Interns in Action! 🌟 We’re so proud of our summer interns, who recently volunteered with some of our local community partners during a special week of giving. Their dedication and hard work truly embody our SEG values and way of being.    Jacksonville Humane Society🐾 Our interns cared for animals, assisted with tasks and helped create a loving environment for pets awaiting adoption. Together with our Emerging Leaders associate resource group, we were able to donate more than 1,300 lbs. of food, treats and other goodies for our four-legged friends!    Feeding Northeast Florida🍽️ We care passionately about fighting hunger and food insecurity throughout the communities we serve. Together, the group sorted and packed food donations, making sure local families could receive much-needed nutritious meals.    Thank you to both organizations for welcoming our interns and allowing us to contribute toward our collective mission of helping our neighbors in need.     #WinningbyMakingaDifference #CommunityConnections 

We're officially halfway through our Summer Internship Program, and our interns have been busily immersed in our retail world. They recently traveled to several of our Harveys Supermarkets and Winn-Dixie locations across the Southeast to understand what it's like to serve our customers and what it takes to operate our stores. Did you know that, according to the @USDA, an estimated one out of every three bites of food we enjoy exists thanks to pollinators like bees, butterflies, birds, bats and other insects? 🐝🦋 Last month, we celebrated National Pollinator Month by reaffirming our commitment to protecting these crucial members of our environment. As we head into Independence Day, we are honored to share that, together with our stores, communities and charitable arm, we are able to donate $550,000 to Folds of Honor. Thanks to the generosity of our associates and customers, these funds will provide 110 scholarships for children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members. Throughout our seven-year partnership, we’ve proudly donated more than $8 million in support of Folds of Honor, providing more than 1,600 educational scholarships in honor of the sacrifice and legacy of our brave U.S. military heroes. #StrongerTogether #WinningTogether 

According to Feeding America, one in five children may face food insecurity and rely on school meal programs for daily nutrition. While school is out of session, food banks step in to support these families by providing essential food and nutrition they may not otherwise have access to during the summer months. As part of our ongoing commitment to fighting hunger, we’re proud to partner with seven food banks throughout the Southeast to help ensure children get the food they need to thrive this summer. To continue supporting the communities we serve, we donated $70,000, along with 7,000 gallons of milk, 7,000 boxes of cereal and 7,000 bunches of bananas to help ease the burden of our neighbors in need.       #SummerHunger #WinningTogether

We're incredibly excited to share Jennifer Short has been named by Progressive Grocer as a Top Woman in Grocery!
