We have two Kosher Saprea Retreats scheduled for this November. Thanks to our generous donors, this is a free clinically informed four-day experience for women who were sexually abused at or before the age of 18. The retreat chefs will work closely with Rabbi Avremi Zippel at Chabad Lubavitch of Utah to ensure the proper dietary framework for food preparation, processing, and consumption. To apply or to learn more about the Saprea Retreat, please visit Saprea.org. #Saprea #SapreaRetreat

Survivors of child sexual abuse come from all walks of life and may be dealing with trauma symptoms alongside their busy lives. It can feel overwhelming to acknowledge the feelings urging you to find relief, but Saprea is here to help. Our approach to healing has three parts. 1. Acknowledgement: Looking with clarity and self-compassion at where you have been in the past and where you are today. 2. Mindfulness: Purposefully paying attention with kindness and curiosity to the present moment. 3. Aspiration: Directing your thoughts and actions towards healing. These healing practices have identified as beneficial by our clinically trained and licensed staff of therapists but we also want to remind you that healing is cyclical and we are to here to help you through the various stages of your healing process. We recently partnered with Ray of Hope Institute, Inc. to provide our first-ever remote Saprea Retreat. Through the partnership, Saprea was able to take their retreat on the road, reaching even more survivors. Twenty women attended the Kosher Retreat in May, reassuring participants of a culturally safe and respectful environment for healing. “We hope to help women of every culture, background, and religion who have experienced child sexual abuse and seek healing pathways,” says Chris Yadon, Managing Director at Saprea. “The team is so caring and the entire experience went beyond anything I could've imagined or expected. The classes were very informative and the activities added another aspect of learning and healing. The feeling of being understood by both the team and the other women was so incredible and nothing I've ever experienced before. I know I've made some lifelong friends. I'm so honored and grateful I was able to attend. It was life changing for sure.” The Saprea Retreat provides a safe place for adult women who are survivors of child sexual abuse. We are proud to work with Stand Together to help break the silence on this silent epidemic. Words are powerful and dialogue is critical. When we support survivors in their healing, we impact an entire community. You are not alone and Saprea offers free healing resources to create a safe environment and community for survivors.
A lot of the advice given to survivors of childhood sexual abuse focuses on treating symptoms. But this retreat tackles trauma at the root, so that the estimated 1 in 5 Americans who have suffered abuse can find lasting healing and break generational cycles of trauma:
