The Sacramento City Unified School District provides all students the knowledge, skills, and educational opportunities to achieve high academic standards and be successful in a changing global society. Sacramento City Unified School District is one of the oldest K-12 districts in the western United States (established in 1854). SCUSD serves 42,231 students on 75 campuses spanning 70 square miles. SCUSD is home to three Public Waldorf schools (George Washington Carver, Alice Birney and AM Winn) and the only Hmong language immersion program in the state (Susan B. Anthony Elementary School). Alumni from SCUSD’s schools include former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, nationally renowned political scholar Dr. Cornel West and author Joan Didion. Recent graduates from SCUSD are currently attending Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis and host of other prestigious universities. SCUSD’s Nutrition Services Department is offering free breakfast and lunch at various SCUSD school locations and community sites throughout the summer. Free breakfast and lunch will be available June 24 – July 26, 2024. Select sites will be offering meals through August 2, 2024. All children 18 years-old and under can receive free meals, no paperwork necessary and enrollment is not required. The summer meal program is available Monday through Friday for breakfast and lunch. All meals must be enjoyed onsite, to-go meals are not available. Meal service operations vary by each site. SCC's intro-to-college summer maker camp provides hands-on experience with various tools, equipment, and technologies, allowing you to learn by doing. This practical approach can deepen your understanding of concepts and skills in fields like robotics, electronics, programming, and design. In just one week, you will collaborate and team up to make robots, solder, fabricate, program electronics, use the laser cutter, printers, fabric printers, and make all kinds of cool stuff, and keep it! You will learn about college life and career pathways, all the while having fun. Monday – Friday, July 22 thru July 26 Sacramento City College Makerspace (Bldg. Starting this Fall, Sacramento New Technology High School is changing to: Sacramento New Technology EARLY COLLEGE High School or SNTECHS for short! SNTECHS is the ONLY state recognized Early College High School in our district. Students who attend SNTECHS will take college courses aimed at their personal college and career aspirations. This program allows students to earn their associates degree or career path certificates WITH their diplomas. The best part, going to college while attending SNTECHS is completely FREE!
