With 6,640 miles of coastline, protecting marine environments is essential for Alaska. Marine Debris Foundation, a nonprofit partner of the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, is dedicated to keeping beaches and waterways clear of harmful pollution. In May, Program Officer Josh Wilson joined MDF on Biorka Island cleanup to learn more about their mission, removing debris from the traditional beaches of the Sheet’Ká Kwáan. Rasmuson Foundation is proud to support MDF’s work across the state. Group photo by Marine Debris Foundation.

Bench users can take flight at the new permanent installation at the Anchorage Museum. "Taking Flight" is more than just a bench but also a memorial to Ed Rasmuson, philanthropist and longtime Chair of Rasmuson Foundation. The design was inspired by his love of aviation, fishing, Alaska, and big ideas. Read more about the story behind "Taking Flight" here: https://lnkd.in/gZtAksxS Thank you to the Anchorage Museum for giving this memorial a permanent home and to Chad Taylor and Intrinsic Landscapes for the design and construction of "Taking Flight."
