The best in women's hockey can be found at the Penguins' draft table. Amateur scout Krissy Wendell-Pohl and Special Assistant to the President of Hockey Operations and GM Amanda Kessel are on the draft floor for the 2024 NHL Draft. Wendell-Pohl was recently elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame for her illustrious playing career, representing Team USA as a two-time Olympian and participating in six Women’s World Championships. Kessel has played in three Olympic Winter Games for Team USA and has earned a spot on eight Women’s World Championship teams.

In observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Month, the Penguins organization, in partnership with UPMC, participates in #WearOrange to remember the thousands of lives lost or forever changed by gun violence annually in America.

Today the Penguins, with P.O Joseph and staff in attendance, proudly sponsored the 2024 Juneteenth Grand Jubilee Parade! The parade celebrated the end of American enslavement, highlighted the importance of voting rights, and honored military service 💛❤️💚🖤

Happy World Penguin Day! 🌍 🐧 Last year, the Pittsburgh Penguins took a stride towards making a lasting impact beyond the rink by introducing the Penguins Pledge initiative. The Penguins Pledge is a sustainability initiative that serves as the organization's commitment to improve social, economic, and environmental sustainability efforts. We learned in our research that in a world facing climate challenges, including the potential extinction of Emperor Penguins by 2100 due to habitat loss, we knew it was time to lace up our skates for change. The Pittsburgh Penguins recognized the potential of our platform to drive positive change and raise continuous awareness, ensuring we play our part in preventing this unfortunate outcome. Pittsburgh cars tomorrow: so fresh and so clean, clean.

Sustainability is not an end goal, but rather an everyday effort to ensure the longevity of our planet. Each individual and organization plays a vital role in this endeavor. Last year, in collaboration with Aramark, the Penguins took a significant step by donating 23,000 lbs of surplus food to the 412 Food Rescue. Building on this momentum, the Penguins recently held their first-ever 'Penguins Pledge Night' - an event dedicated to championing sustainability. Prior to the game, fans heard from thought leaders like Erika Chan, Jennifer Dodson, Sandra L. Reid, SCMP, and Scott Holzborn who shared insights on sustainability during the Sustainability Panel, presented by United States Steel Corporation. We appreciate our panelists' expertise as we strive to improve our sustainability efforts.
