Dr. D. Kyle Hogarth, MD, FCCP with an excellent example of how The Galaxy System™ with TiLT+ Technology™ is helping him and his team UChicago Medicine overcome CT-to-body divergence, improve overall diagnostic yield and provide positive patient outcomes. This proprietary technology is designed to allow for real-time navigation updates and guidance in all areas of the lung, including an augmented fluoro feature designed to overlay a graphical representation of the target lesion during live fluoro video to help locate non-visual lesions. #NoahMedical #GalaxySystem #AlwaysInSight #LungCancer #Bronchoscopy #iiRAB #healthcare
Great case for a GGO today using Noah Galaxy. 16mm LUL with average HF of -586. Navigated in 20 seconds and then corrected the CTBD inherent in all robotic platforms (EMN and shape sensing) using TILT (see image 1 below). This updates in real time the lesion location and gives augmented fluoroscopy. There was no airway into this lesion so we used a Medtronic needle to make a hole targeting the lesion using augmented Fluro and the Galaxy targeting system (see image 2 below). This aspirate was positive for tumor (see image 3 below). Then, because we didn't have to blind ourselves and remove the optics, we could see the hole we made that lead directly into the tumor and pass our forceps in for larger biopsies (see image 4 below). the TBBx tissue was positive for tumor on ROSE but also the VanGogh system (see image 5 below). Total radiation was 19mGy for the entire case (radiation used for 1 TILT, 2 aspirates, 4 biopsies, and a fiducial placed). Disposable scope thrown away, minimal radiation dose to the patient and my team, and no additional expensive mobile cone beam required to make my robot actually work. True Image Integrated Robotic Targeting makes all the difference. Noah Medical Aquyre Biosciences, Inc.

The final results and high diagnostic yield from Noah Medical’s FRONTIER Study were recently covered by Healio. https://hubs.ly/Q02H7CRf0 Originally published in the Official Journal of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, the study found that Galaxy achieved 100% successful navigation to small lesions in the lung periphery, diagnostic yield up to 94.7% (intermediate) and 100% tool-in-lesion accuracy. Importantly, this study is also noteworthy because it demonstrates that the use of Galaxy can be rapidly scaled to improve lung cancer detection rates even in places where physicians have limited experience with robotic systems. Thanks to Dr. Tajalli Saghaie for his important work in completing this clinical trial. #NoahMedical #LungCancer #RoboticBronchoscopy #EarlyDetection #DiagnosticYield

“CT-to-body divergence has been an issue we’ve known about for the past three years. And we’ve all seen this. You try to biopsy a nodule, and you’re there, and suddenly on a fluoroscopy image, the green dot is outside the CT scan, and on the fluoro, you’re still in the lung. There have been other ways for us to try to combat this with different add-on imaging. What we need is a system that combines all that into one and that is the Galaxy.” - Gautam Balakrishnan, MD, FCCP Only the Galaxy System™ with TiLT+ Technology™ provides Integrated Tomosynthesis to overcome CT-to-body divergence. “The yield in peripheral bronchoscopy has still continued to lag and it’s because of the inability to compensate for CT-to-body divergence. We have to do better. We have to be able to have confidence. And that’s where tomosynthesis integration is going to change everything about peripheral bronchoscopy.” - D. Kyle Hogarth, MD, FCCP The Galaxy System with its proprietary (Tool-in-Lesion Tomography) TiLT+ Technology is the only robotic assisted bronchoscopy system that provides integrated tomosynthesis by incorporating readily available C-arm fluoroscopy. This enables real-time lesion updates when navigating to nodules located in the pleural, middle and the outer periphery of the lung and tool-in-lesion confirmation for greater confidence of diagnostic success. "Bronchoscope reprocessing is the hidden cost and burden on the support team. The ability to toss the scope and accessories at the end of each case reduces the burden on my team and improves turnover times.” - Dr. Krish Bhadra Transitional-pass-through (TPT) payment codes are approved for eligible innovative and breakthrough medical technologies to facilitate patient access. Effective January 1, 2024, CMS awarded TPT status to a category of single-use pulmonary bronchoscopes which provides incremental payment in addition to the standard Medicare payment for the related procedure. A third-party legal analysis concluded that the Galaxy Bronchoscope appears to meet the criteria for this incremental TPT payment.
