SHA leadership had the opportunity to tour the Purple Line alignment with our partners at MTA Maryland and Purple Line Transit Partners LLC! We are proud of the incredible progress the Purple Line team is making on this important project and look forward to seeing work advance with track and station construction!
About us
Since SHA’s inception as the State Roads Commission in 1908, the organization has built on its foundation of quality and integrity. We are proud of our tradition of excellence and happy to share our vision, our beliefs and our values with you. We believe that building a successful organization is similar to building roads or bridges because it all starts with a solid foundation. Instead of standard construction materials, we rely on our most important assets -- our values and our people. The State Highway Administration constantly strives to improve our team’s skills through a variety of career development programs.

Our hearts go out to Connecticut Department of Transportation Department of Transportation (CTDOT) after a worker was struck and killed while removing litter for mowing crews. Please – Slow down, move over, pay attention. Lives depend on it. Our litter crews are also cleaning up the state-maintained highways and interstates for Operation Clean Sweep. Just this morning, a flatbed truck hit their attenuator device along northbound I-270. There were no reported injuries, but it still weighs on us. Please exercise caution when you're behind the wheel.

As part of its leadership role in advancing multi-modal solutions that serve all roadway users, the State Highway Administration on June 27 hosted a Safe System Approach training workshop at the North Calvert Street headquarters conducted by the Federal Highway Administration. The FHWA workshop included a detailed overview of the Safe System Approach, which is designed to focus on ways to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists sharing roadways.

A special thanks to our crews who do hot work in the hot weather. The Frederick Shop recently made road improvements to a section of MD 80 in Urbana. Your work to keep roads safe does not go unnoticed. #MDOTcares #MDroads

SHA is currently fostering connections and collaborating with over 160 local government officials at The Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference. We are dedicated to finding the best ways to serve Marylanders. https://lnkd.in/eswyCWWR
Another great couple of days meeting with local leaders at the Maryland Municipal League’s Summer Conference in Ocean City! Gov. Wes Moore says that service will save us and I believe it. Proud to work for him and the Moore-Miller Administration.
