    This past weekend, we had the honor of sponsoring #KelpFest on World Ocean Day. Hosted by the incredible Laguna Ocean Foundation at the picturesque Cobblestones of Main Beach, KelpFest celebrated the unique beauty of Laguna Beach and its vital coastal resources.    Our dynamic Director of Sales for Casa Loma Beach Hotel and Laguna Beach House, Daniellea Acosta, enthusiastically led our booth, highlighting our commitment to environmental sustainability.   The American West is our home and muse, filled with our favorite sounds, smells, colors, and people.     This week at the prestigious Hospitality Design Expo + Conference in Las Vegas, La Playa Hotel was recognized among the world's elite in design innovation, winning the award for Visual Identity at the 20th annual HD Project Awards. Our entry was one of nearly 930 evaluated by a discerning panel of 11 judges who celebrated the extraordinary creativity and excellence in our industry.   Under the visionary leadership of Alex Rinker and our partners at Rinker Studio, Synectic Design, Inc., and Post Company, La Playa Hotel has embraced its heritage while evolving to meet the modern desires of our guests. This transformation is anchored in the philosophy that "All art is an imitation of nature," beautifully mirroring the scenic splendor and storied past of Carmel-by-the-Sea.   The redesign is a celebration of romance, elegance, beauty, and mystery. Each element, from the custom logotype reminiscent of an artist’s signature to the uniquely crafted ceramic room-number tiles, is thoughtfully curated to enhance the intimate and luxurious ambiance of our hotel.   Our design draws deeply from the property's 120-year legacy and its role as a haven for creatives, enhancing every guest's experience by offering a glimpse into a bygone era fused with contemporary luxury. Paul's journey began in Mesa, AZ, but it was in California where his roots truly took hold from the age of 3 months. After a decade in LA, he returned to Phoenix/Scottsdale, where his formative years unfolded. Starting as a pool boy in Scottsdale, he swiftly ascended through various roles across multiple AAA Four Diamond properties before embarking on his sales career in Newport Beach, California. A true son of the Southwest, Paul's heart belongs to the warmth of the desert, not the chill of snow. His return to Scottsdale in 2021 brought with it a renewed appreciation for family, friends, and life's priorities. Paul cherishes the opportunity to apply his wealth of experience in his hometown, viewing the city through fresh eyes.     Congratulations to Brandon Howard, who will fulfill a new role with Marc & Rose Hospitality as Corporate Director of Operations. In this dynamic position, he will assist with the operational performance of the Marc & Rose portfolio. Brandon's responsibilities will extend to brand engagement, daily operations support for leaders, and ensuring each property's profitability, guest satisfaction, and associate satisfaction. His role will focus on championing, developing, and maintaining brand, service, and operating department standards, policies, and procedures. Brandon will also work closely with other corporate and regional teams to drive outcomes that are aligned with financial, guest, associate, and owner/asset management goals. Brandon brings an impressive educational and professional background to this position, having graduated Summa Cum Laude from NAU's HRM program and gained valuable experience with Westin, St Regis, and Sheraton before joining The Scott Resort & Spa as Director of Rooms, Director of Operations, and ultimately General Manager. Known for his warm and engaging leadership style supported by intuition, tenacity, and intelligence, Brandon has consistently created an environment that maintains a constant focus on workplace excellence, service performance, revenue management, branding, and continuous improvement, which has been a key driver in The Scott's overall success as a world-class destination. Brandon deeply understands the ingredients of genuine hospitality and unique luxury. We are incredibly pleased and proud of Brandon and his ongoing contributions.

Mo's deep-rooted passion for the hospitality industry and his astute awareness of the Phoenix market make him an invaluable asset to our sales team.   Having grown up in a hotel environment with his mother working as a night auditor in Flagstaff, Mo's roots in hospitality run deep. He pursued his education at NAU on a football scholarship, embodying the spirit of teamwork and dedication.     We are delighted to announce the arrival of Elizabeth Hoendervoogt, CPTD, SPHR, as our new People & Culture Manager at High Country Motor Lodge. With a strong human resources and organizational development background, Beth brings valuable expertise in onboarding, training, team development, and mentorship programs.   A true Arizonian at heart, Beth holds a Master's Degree in Education from NAU and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from ASU. Her passion for HCML began during her stay in September when she instantly fell in love with our property. Beth is thrilled to join our team and share her enthusiasm for travel, music, sports, and the great outdoors. Additionally, she is a proud owner of two rescue dogs.   Please join us in warmly welcoming Beth as she assumes her pivotal role.     Join us in extending a warm welcome to Daniellea Acosta, who joins Marc & Rose as the new Director of Sales for our Laguna properties – Laguna Beach House and Casa Loma Beach Hotel.   Daniellea comes to us with an impressive background in the hospitality industry, including roles such as Leisure Sales Manager at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, Concierge at Montage Laguna Beach, Travel Agent for RPI, and Sales Manager at SBE Hotel and Restaurant Group in Beverly Hills. Her experience also extends to community relations with the Los Angeles Clippers.   Born in Lake Tahoe, California, and raised in Laguna Beach, Daniellea has a deep connection to her hometown. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from California State University Long Beach and continues to reside locally in Laguna Beach with her family – her spouse and their 9-year-old daughter, Aria. An avid animal lover, Daniellea shares her home with a cat, two dogs, and a bunny. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, and traveling.   In her own words, Daniellea is genuinely honored to join Marc & Rose. Her passion for hospitality and dedicated service shines as she finds joy in bringing resorts to life and creating unforgettable memories for guests. Daniellea believes in the power of genuine enthusiasm and takes delight in making people laugh and smile. She is excited to share the beauty of Laguna Beach with all who visit.
