Wildfires have ignited across California and the Western US in recent days. The Thompson Fire near Lake Oroville in Butte County has burned 3,789 acres as of July 7th, and forced more than 13,000 residents to evacuate. Fortunately, it’s now more than 86% contained. At Ladris, we utilized our FIRE-1 fire spread model to run a simulation test, comparing it with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) daily acres map when the fire had burned approximately 800 acres. By incorporating wind direction and speed, FIRE-1 accurately predicted the fire’s spread for the first 8 hours. Even more impressive, FIRE-1 simulated a spot fire across a canal below Oroville Dam that continued to burn on the south side of the canal. FIRE-1 provides crucial, accurate fire prediction models needed to help battle and contain any wildfire. #CALFIRE #Ladris #AI # #WildfirePrevention #EmergencyManagement

A recent CNN article on disaster evacuation preparedness makes clear that current systems in place are not keeping pace with the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters. (https://lnkd.in/gaSWWBZX) According to CAL FIRE, in 2024 there have been 2,934 wildland fires impacting 139,590 acres in California. Today (July 3rd) in Butte County, over 28,000 residents are under evacuation orders. Government agencies must prioritize and measure what truly matters: their performance in protecting citizens. Without knowing how long it takes to evacuate people, it is impossible to measure the effectives of evacuation plans and alerting systems. Our advanced AI software, EVAC-1, provides Emergency Management, Sheriff’s offices, and Fire Departments with the capability to forecast evacuation times within seconds. This enables real-time decision-making and performance measurement. Imagine having the ability to predict and adapt to any number of “what-if” scenarios, ensuring the safety of your community even before disaster strikes. With Ladris’ EVAC-1, county management can precisely gauge the effectiveness of evacuation plans and alert systems using real-time traffic data. Our robust, validated model has been proven and deployed across California and the Western States, making it the most reliable tool for disaster preparedness. Don’t wait until disaster hits to adopt this essential technology. Let’s be proactive in ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities. #DisasterPreparedness #CNN #EmergencyManagement #AI #EvacuationPlanning #Ladris #MeasureWhatMatters
