The U.S. is facing a surge in its elderly population, with 80 million over age 65 by 2040. While 90% of these individuals prefer to age at home, our healthcare and social support systems are ill-equipped to handle this shift, leading to increased caregiver burnout and fragmented care. Sensi.AI is helping bridge the gap. Co-founded by Romi Gubes, Nevo Elmalem, and Alon Brener, Sensi helps seniors live independently for longer, driving revenue for home care agencies, and reducing the burden on payers and providers. The company’s audio-based NLP- and LLM-based models sell into non-clinical home care agencies and monitor elderly patients at home to identify emergencies and care needs in real-time, resulting in reduced hospitalizations. Sensi first came on Insight’s radar back in 2020. We recognized the company’s innovative audio offering, which was well-positioned to serve this market with its balance between accuracy and privacy. We highlighted their process in our blog in 2023, and continue to be impressed by Sensi’s growth, spearheaded by a strong management team. Insight Partners is excited to be co-leading Sensi's $31M Series B with Zeev Ventures 🎊 Continue reading about the investment from Managing Director Scott Barclay, Vice President Alexandra Lundin, and Sahar Mohammadzadeh: https://lnkd.in/dvE4GMXY

“I hate my job. Can you build me a tool to make my life easier?” — A simple request from a friend led Maarten Alblas and Jonas Ruyter to create DataSnipper, a global software company for auditors. In Amsterdam in 2017, Alblas and Ruyter joined software engineer Kai Bakker to build a tool to ease the pain of reconciliation, and it quickly gained the market’s attention. ”It didn’t take long to realize that this was a global problem within audit and that the world is a very big place,” says Alblas. After bootstrapping the business for the first four years, the founders knew they "could scale even faster with more money and the right advice.” Insight Partners came on board in 2022 after Ruyter reached out to Vice President Alessandro Luciano. Since then, Insight has helped DataSnipper expand into the U.S. and hire CEO Vidya Peters in 2023. With her impressive background, Peters brought strategic insights that further propelled DataSnipper's success. “The company was growing quickly, profitable, with rock-solid customer retention. But it was when we spoke to customers that we found 17 out of 20 gave it a Net Promoter Score of 9/10 or more. That rarely happens in B2B software,” says Managing Director Matt Gatto. Today, DataSnipper boasts over 500,000 users across 125 countries, with new offices in the U.S. and Asia Pacific. “Our strategy is a living, breathing thing. We may be a ScaleUp, but we can change and pivot as fast as a startup,” says Peters. Insight Partners proudly hosted our annual Vision Capital Summer Social at the end of June. This event brought together GPs and LPs in our 20/20 Vision Capital network for a curated evening of connection.    Insight’s 20/20 Vision Capital Fund supports diverse-led, top-tier, early-stage venture funds — providing growth and seed capital to companies in the U.S. and abroad. Insight believes that partnering and investing with these GPs effectively drives much-needed diversity in the venture capital industry. The most recent fund, 20/20 Vision Capital Fund II, raised $118M in capital commitments to support managers from inception, allowing fund managers to utilize Insight's GP connections and gain exposure to additional investors. Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to continued growth in this important community!

Abnormal Security is on a journey to “understand humans better than humans.” This was the goal for cofounders Evan Reiser and Sanjay Jeyakumar when they first created Abnormal in 2018, which now protects almost one-fifth of the Fortune 500. In a world where most successful social engineering and phishing attacks exploit email as a channel, the cofounders saw an opportunity to apply their tech to email security. Managing Director Stephen Ward recognized the team’s potential from their first meeting, “I wanted to show the scale of my commitment… so I jumped on a 6 a.m. flight from New Jersey to San Francisco and came in person. We were supposed to speak for an hour, but we spent three hours on the whiteboard working on the product roadmap.” Reiser admired Ward's chutzpah, he says. “It means a lot when someone is willing to make a six-hour trip to come and shake your hand.” But the Abnormal team isn't just focused on cybersecurity: “When your core focus is human behavior, the opportunity snowballs with the more platforms you protect. We’re just getting started. The best from Abnormal is yet to come.” Find out more about how Abnormal Security is working to protect humans with AI: https://lnkd.in/e7CGtMCs #startup #ScaleUp #founder

With #PrideMonth coming to a close, we have a final OUTsight ERG spotlight to round out the month. Meet Amir Ravandoust. We asked Amir about his experience at Insight, early career advice, and wisdom from prior mentorships. ❓What do you do at Insight? (Amir) I am a member of the scaled buyout team, focused on diligence, acquisition, and transformation of our large-scale investments. I also occasionally step into our portfolio companies in interim operating roles such as CFO and COO, to accelerate the upfront transformation of the business and set the management team up for growth and success. 🧠 What is one thing you wish you had known when you began your career? (Amir) Asking for help earlier and more frequently. I used to think that I had to figure everything out myself. I became much more productive and effective the moment I normalized asking for help and advice from others. 🤝 Talk about a significant mentorship moment in your life. (Amir) While working closely with a company to transform its sales strategy, I was facing a lot of push-back from the middle management layer who did not want to disrupt the momentum of the business. The CEO, who was also a mentor of mine, told me to spend more time with the sales team in the field, meet customers and partners, and sit through product demos to better understand the business and gain more credibility with the team. In addition to making the project successful, my mentor’s advice has become a critical part of how I do my job: I embed myself within teams to better understand their concerns and perspectives to improve the way I support and advise them. To see our spotlights from throughout the month, keep reading here: https://lnkd.in/eYD4RX3t
