Leading global law firm Clyde & Co will be moving its core financial and practice management systems to the cloud with Elite Technology 3E, with Harbor as its implementation partner, we can reveal. Find out what the key drivers were here. This is a big step for any law firm but Duncan Hannigan at Elite says that over 25% of Elite’s customers are now signed up to 3E in the cloud, including a number of very large firms. “There is no difference in the pace and desire for change between a massive firm and a single office one. Everyone we’re talking to is saying ‘when’ not ‘if’", he says. #legaltech https://lnkd.in/eXhixzSp

Training can make a critical difference to users transitioning to iManage 10 – most importantly because the rewards of advanced search are so high. In this video, Rachel Baiden (FLPI) at Squire Patton Boggs shares insights and lessons learned from her global technology training program for iManage 10. Balden discusses need-to-know vs. nice-to-know training, and using the LTC4 (Legal Technology Core Competencies Certification Coalition) standard as a benchmark for training lawyers, secretaries, and support staff. She also weighs the value of all-remote versus in-person training, and her experience in offering highly personalized training options for a range of different learning styles. Are you fully aware of all the AI tools used by your organization? Of these AI tools, which ones are used for critical, consequential, or high-risk decision making? For each tool in the high-risk category, has your organization conducted an impact assessment to screen for biases or harms that could result from their use? In this latest installment in our "IA Before AI" series, Tom Corey, Esq., CRM, CIPP/US, CIPM of Harbor discusses "Managing AI Risks with Information Governance". AI inventories and audits and impact assessments play a critical role in ensuring that your organization is using AI tools legally, ethically, and responsibly. He discusses what organizations should do to comply with recent regulatory developments such as the EU AI Act, emphasizing the need to continually monitor and audit AI systems, and update policies as the technology evolves. “The way to solve the conflict between human values and technological needs is not to run away from technology." – Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance As your organization experiments with AI, do you have guardrails in place to ensure compliance with new AI laws and protection from unnecessary risks? From potentially exposing sensitive information, opening up new avenues for hackers, misusing IP, generating biased or inaccurate insights, or failing to comply with regulatory or client requirements, the cost of ignoring AI governance could be huge. In this webinar, experts from Harbor will discuss relevant AI governance concepts and terminology, and how an artful and balanced approach to Information Governance can best position businesses and law firms to tackle the challenges of AI head on. Areas covered will include balancing AI and IG initiatives, and understanding AI governance drivers including current and pending legislation, generative AI business risks, and data and IG-related risks. We'll also cover how to implement AI governance, including creating a program framework, and establishing a workflow process and generative AI policies. No matter your role, this session will help you help you understand the foundational aspects of building an effective AI governance program. Dark data refers to the old, forgotten, and likely outdated files that accumulate over time without strong information governance practices. Such data can pose serious cybersecurity, data privacy, intellectual property, and compliance risks for corporations and law firms, particularly when using generative AI or third-party platforms. Readiness assessments, compliance checks, and cultural shifts can help reduce these risks and yield better results from AI. Creating an organization-wide AI governance framework can make dark data a thing of the past.
