This National Intern Day, we would like to take a moment to celebrate GMS’ bright group of summer 2024 interns! 📣    Over the last couple of months, we’ve engaged the group in several activities that we hope will further prepare them for their future endeavors.    To recap a couple of our recent highlights:    🌳 Early in July, we brought the group together to volunteer with a local nonprofit, Trees Atlanta, whose mission is focused on creating and maintaining natural greenspaces around metro-Atlanta. While it was a very hot morning, it was a great opportunity to serve the community that many of our GMS families work and/or reside in.    💼 Last week, they participated in a full day of career development exercises to help improve their workplace communication skills as they prepare to enter the competitive job market. Special thank you to our very own, Stan Blalock and Tyrene Hodge, Director, Brand Culture & Workplace Experience at Cox Enterprises, Inc. who both came to speak with our group about their personal communication styles, managing their personal brands, establishing workplace credibility, and fostering meaningful workplace relationships.     The fun isn’t over yet, with just 2 more weeks we have a few more things in store before we say farewell to this remarkable group of future leaders! 🎉🎊    #GypsumManagementandSupply #summerinternship #NationalInternDay

Last week GMS held its third Ignite session of 2024! Leaders from around the country attended this intensive 3-day learning workshop to gain an understanding of the key management processes, skills and practices necessary to support a culture of inclusion, engagement, learning, and performance that we consider critical at GMS. For Safe Driver week we are featuring Cody Page! Cody has been with Cherokee Building Materials for three years and was one of our first team members to follow and complete the prescribed GMS training program that led to him to earn his CDL license. July 7-13 is Safe Driver Week. In support of this awareness campaign, law enforcement personnel in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. will be on the lookout for commercial motor vehicle drivers and passenger vehicle drivers engaging in unsafe driving behaviors, such as speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, etc. As a part of our commitment to Safety, GMS and its subsidiaries provide training, certification tools and mentorship to prepare drivers to safely perform their job. #GypsumManagementandSupply #SafeDriverWeek
