Adding functions and re-validating a #safety system can be daunting- Let us help you along the path to regulatory compliance and providing a safe workplace for your team. Grady Automation engineers can work with an existing TRBA or re-assessing the risks with our process and documentation, to ensure compliance with ISO 13849-1, IEC 62061 and/or RIA ANSI/RIA R15.06. A few types of projects we can help with: ⭐ Task-Based Risk Assessment (TRBA) Services ⭐ SISTEMA report of new / legacy systems ⭐ Complaint Safety Code respecting SIL / PL ⭐ New electrical drawing packages of legacy safety systems ⭐ Re-Validating existing or modified safety systems ⭐ Integrating safety systems of multiple machines ⭐ Adding programmed or hardwired functions ⭐ Complete retrofits, CIP conversions, and wiring consolidation If you have a process or machine you don't feel is quite up to par with today's safety standards, we offer a complete solution as your partner.

Adding functionality to a complex flying cuttoff #servo retrofit. This 1-ton die set is matching line speed of 200 feet per minute- Slow motion video required. We developed a custom cam profile to dynamically match line speed with a smooth ramp using a Rockwell Automation feedback-only encoder axis paired with a #kenetix 5700 drive & MPL motor engineered for the application. To improve cut quality, a master-axis offset directly after the cut "pushes" the die set forward to clear the material. Cuts are accurate at different speeds and all motion is scaled dynamically, with extended operator config & feedback on a new HMI. If you have a complex servo application, especially in a legacy system that needs a retrofit, Grady Automation is a regional leader in this space with a proven track record and project portfolio.

#throwbackthursday to a past #rockwellautomation PLC-5 conversion! This project was a motor control PLC-5 remote rack, being converted to ControlLogix, and DH+ fieldbus over Ethernet/IP. This is a picture of the most critical time in a rip & replace- changing over each connection from the 1771 to the 1756 terminal blocks. Our comprehensive PLC-5 migration method includes: ★ IO list conversion matrix with card consolidation & analog considerations ★ Layout drawings before & after conversion for spacing compliance ★ Schematic of each card, with terminal, wire #, old/new PLC addressing ★ Program conversion documenting messaging and other configurations ★ Octal conversion logic to retain original wire numbers/points ★ Installation, commissioning, and system checkout services If your facility has a mission-critical PLC-5, we have a proven track record of successful platform migrations and are ready to put our experience to work for you.
