Great ideas, even better memories. The TRB CATE Conference was one for the books. Here are a few of our highlights from the event: 👉 We had the pleasure of sponsoring a mentoring event for students and young professionals organized by the Student Engagement Committee, supported by Sarah B.. 👉 We got to meet new CSer, Prashanth Venkataram, who presented a poster on the travel behavior of people with & without disabilities in California. 👉 The crowd was buzzing as they learned about the work behind the 2021 Equity In Transit Symposium in a workshop led by Daniela Waltersdorfer Jimenez, Baird Bream, Alex Karner, and Emily Alter, MPP. 👉 Participants enjoyed a trivia session on EV myths and facts at Adrienne Heller’s presentation on integrating equity into electrification planning. Thank you Transportation Research Board for putting this conference together. We are feeling so inspired by the collective energy and momentum for transportation equity and mobility justice.

Antoinette Avorgbedor did a fantastic job with her panel workshop at the COMTO National Meeting & Training Conference last week. She and her panelists, Veronica O. Davis, PE and Evan Howard, addressed a very timely and critical topic as the host city of Houston was still dealing with the effects of Hurricane Beryl: resilience planning and transportation equity. The panel emphasized the importance of community engagement and industry diversity for amplifying marginalized voices. COMTO National Office, we thank you for your efforts to keep this event moving forward in the face of a hurricane. Stay strong, Houston!
