New York City real estate acquisition professionals are hurting - but it's created a once-in-a-decade opportunity. Why? - layoffs - fraud - stress Examples: Nightingale lost nearly all of their talent when the fraud came to light. Deal volume is low - high performers are looking for firms that are doing deals. If you have a winning strategy in today's market, there is no time like now to build an acquisitions team with skilled, industry veterans. Comment below - who is hiring in acquisitions?

Really excited to welcome Oliver Nielsen to the Bullpen team! Oliver and I connected in 2022 when he first applied to join Bullpen's team. After accepting a different offer, we stayed in touch and kept tabs on each other until it made sense to revisit the conversation a few weeks ago. We're lucky to have him, and I'm excited for him to get hands-on with our customers in the coming weeks!

“I always forget what you guys do so have to click a link as a reminder. You should include it somewhere in the newsletter even if it’s only a sentence or two.” Some amazing feedback we received recently - for Dylan and anyone else wondering ... 👇 What is Bullpen? Bullpen is the fastest-growing staffing and recruiting company in the commercial real estate industry. We help hiring managers when they ... 1) Don't have time to run a proper recruiting process themselves or have had a bad experience with another recruiter. 2) Have made a few bad hires and are gun-shy about doing it again. 3) Don't want to pay an arm and leg as a recruiting fee - only to lose it if the new hire leaves (I haven't found another firm that can beat our terms). Unlike most recruiting companies, we support full-time AND fractional/freelance hiring ... our massive, pre-vetted talent network of more than 4,000 commercial real estate freelancers makes that possible. But I thought you only did freelancers? I started Bullpen in 2018 as a freelance-only talent network. After 4 years of exclusively supporting freelance/1099 contract hiring and lots of requests from our existing customers, we added full-time recruiting to our service line in 2023.

It’s been a little while and there are a few new faces so here’s a bit about the guy you just started following: I was born in Richmond, Virginia, and have lived in Blacksburg, Atlanta, Houston, and San Francisco. I grew up with my parents, brother, and sister - I'm the oldest. I went to Virginia Tech, majored in Industrial & Systems Engineering, and was a part of BASIS where I grew a passion for investing and aspired to work on Wall Street. I was a 5-year grad because I completed two onsite internships but would have stayed in college as long as they’d let me. I had a ball. I have a stutter that has ebbed and flowed in severity throughout my life. Unfortunately, it thwarted my Wall Street plans. So after graduation, I moved to Houston, TX and took a job with GE in FP&A. I was good at living in Texas (still some of the kindest people I’ve met). I was not good at working for a big corporation. After 2 years at GE, a connection at Raymond James hooked me up with an interview, and I moved to San Francisco to work the muni bond desk as an analyst. My Wall Street dreams came true but I quickly realized I was as unhappy as I’d ever been. We’ll come back to this in a bit. On the positive side, I met my wife at a house party a few months into living in the city. We both worked in finance and liked two-stepping ... she's the better dancer. Back to Wall Street, I spontaneously collapsed a lung about a year into my new job. The stress was immense, and I was not a great employee. With a little bravery and a whole lot of naivety, I quit to syndicate real estate investments. I syndicated one deal and have posted about that previously. Turns out I was also not very good at that either. However, I was good at creating pitch decks and proformas. After freelancing with a few other investment firms, the concept for Bullpen was born. Since its formation, Bullpen has helped more than 300 companies hire for 800+ projects. We have a long way to go - there are more than 3,000 freelancers in our network. Stay tuned for for more on Bullpen’s startup journey.

Bullpen is THE place to hire freelancers in the real estate industry. To date, we have more than 4,000 professionals in our network and have helped more than 1,000 companies hire. BUT - there is a catch. We don't support small projects ... 10-hour modeling gigs, one pitch deck, etc ... they've never been in Bullpen's wheelhouse. As such, we've turned away hundreds of companies who need help ... until now. TODAY - we launched WiCRE, a platform where people can post jobs and browse a database of commercial real estate experts. It's 100% free, and you can go directly to the professionals (no need to work through Bullpen's talent team). Check it out, and let me know your thoughts - link below 👇 #commercialrealestate #freelancing
