Earlier this month, we celebrated the opening of our Warwick, Rhode Island hospice location. The Warwick location is the first AccentCare facility in the state, and we are honored to provide this community with this critical service that adds dignity to the end of life. Our Warwick location will provide art therapy and our Legacy program to remember loved ones. Additionally, our “We Honor Veterans” program is offered, which is an inclusive care initiative with services uniquely designed for veterans. These are just a few of the many methods of care we provide to our patients and their loved ones. This location will be led by Executive Director Melanie Machado, an experienced hospice professional certified by the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC). On this Juneteenth, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this day and its importance to our work. In health care, celebrating Juneteenth carries a deeper resonance. It serves as a reminder of the persistent inequities that exist within our society and the health care system.

Happy #Pride Month! This June, we're taking the time to celebrate our friends, family, chosen families, and staff within the LGBTQIA+ community. In health care, taking the time to understand the diverse background and experiences of our clients and patients can aid in providing better care and a safe, respectful, and understanding environment. Creating a more inclusive environment fosters trust and openness, which ultimately contribute to better health outcomes. If you are interested in engaging during pride month, learn more here: https://hubs.la/Q02BZ7bm0
