Socializing our designs with the broader team and being receptive to feedback goes a long way to delivering what��s right for the customer, regardless of our personal opinion.

Being just a creative designer is not enough. If you want to promote your concepts, project, and even your career, you must use communication. Improve your communication with your clients. Make sure you keep them updated and answer their concerns. Feedback along the way will help you improve your project and build trust between you and your client. When it comes to communicating your ideas, always make sure that everyone understands the terms you use. If they don't, you could make them feel comfortable and explain. The communication inside the team is even more important. It's important to communicate with the dev team and make sure you're on the same page. That will help you later when you hand over your project to the dev.

This is TOP. The better you can talk to people, the better the designer you will become. People will always remain people and will want to communicate

Really great methodology for Tangible, Intangible products. No designer needs acquire separate skill, it is present in designers. In any project/assignments it is not necessary for one designer needs do know everything (User research, Analysis, Workshop, Design, Prototypes, User testing) but should have enough and accurate knowledge about the process and work as contributor or lead. The imp. stakeholders during different phases including Research are UX Designer, Tech Architect, Domain specialist, User definitely. Design thinking workshop is core of the design thinking process and imp phase where client understand the importance of UCD process and realises how crucial the role of designers in any product development life cycle.

Technical understanding on how software is build is fundamental for Lead Designers having to manage stakeholders from the tech side of a team. No amount of communication skills can replace a good understanding of how something that was designed can and will be implemented technically. Users don't interact with Figma files, they interact with code at the end of the day. Helping with proper handovers and communicating with developers during the implementation phase is a critical skills that requires being able to speak the language of designers and translating it to the language of developers and vice versa.

Try to learn more out of your comfort zone. Learning new fields can simply improve your projects, your management skills, and your team. During the last year, I learned how to code. No, I'm not planning to become a Front-end developer, but now my communication with the engineers is better and my designs are more dev-friendly. Try to learn different methods, other than what you use in your day job - maybe you'll find a method that is more relevant to your project.

The thing they don't tell you about leading or managing a team is that you probably won't be doing much technical design work. Instead, you'll be sending emails, creating presentations, and attending lots of meetings to ensure the people in your team are happy and moving in the right direction.

I would challenge whether you should build a career in design. I recommend becoming a generalist and even exploring low-code/no-code tools that represent the future of where this field is heading. Design + Code are merging more every day. You can learn a lot by building working products with real data in no-code tools that 'screen making' in traditional design can't teach you. Learn how to ... - design with real data - make something work well, not just look good - think through filtering, scripts, and automations - think deeply through an interaction/flow - explore edge cases - enable error prevention over error correction - test real working things, not static mockups - iterate much more quickly through divergent ideas

Lead is someone who can scale themselves. And that doesn't happen through craft but through working with others. It's in the name - 'Lead' - so you must learn what leading is and how to do it. To lead doesn't mean to manage. Anyone can be a leader, independently of their rank in the org structure. - take initiative, own it, drive - collaborate, facilitate, communicate, take others on a journey - have an excellent grasp of methods so you can mix and match / pivot as needed Becoming a 'lead' is tricky, as what got you to become a Senior won't get you to become a Lead. If you understand this, you're on a path to getting there.
