The Kadence Team has just released the groundbreaking Kadence Design Library with the release of Kadence Blocks version 3.0.30. Previewed during the recent Kadence Amplify event, this new design library supercharges website design processes by inheriting theme colors and fonts, as well as dynamically populating sections with royalty free imagery and placeholder content. In this way, the new Kadence Design Library is unique for every site that uses it.

The new Kadence Design Library.

The Kadence Design Library is a game-changing resource for designers, developers, and creators of all kinds, offering an extensive array of design patterns that can be easily integrated into any project. By leveraging the power of these patterns, users can streamline their creative process, improve workflow, and enhance the overall quality and consistency of their work.

Elements from the Kadence Design Library can be used on any WordPress post or page on sites where the latest version of Kadence Blocks is installed. There are many free elements of the design library, while users of Kadence Blocks Pro will have access to over double the number of patterns available. Users will be able to quickly discern free from pro when visiting the design library.

Watch our video explaining how the design library works.

New Design Patterns

The key patterns include the following groups of blocks that make building easy. We’ve listed the sections below along with a sample that a professional designer has created using the Kadence Design Library patterns.

Hero areas. Introductory areas for the above-the-fold engagement. Here’s an example for a landscaping business.

Landscape hero

Cards. Cards allow you to easily organize content in a visually appealing way. Here’s an example for a personal trainer.

Columns. Columns make it easy to visually organize related content. This example is great for real estate sites.

Media and Text.

Counter or Stats.

Post Loop. Group content from blog posts in a post loop to allow your audience to dive into content.

Tabs. Make diving into related content easy while not overwhelming users with tabs.

Accordion. Build easy to navigate accordions for FAQs and more.

Pricing tables. Add pricing tables to guide users through price differentiation on your products and services.

Try Kadence Design Libraries

The best way to get started is to update your Kadence Blocks plugin and start building. But if you’re interested in a sandbox environment first, we’ve got an instance set up for you to get a feel for the power of the new Kadence Design Library.

Customizable

All design patterns in the Kadence Design Library are fully customizable, allowing you to tailor them to your specific needs and preferences. You can easily modify colors, typography, layout, and more to create a unique and cohesive design that aligns with your brand identity. Additionally, the patterns are built with scalability in mind, making it simple to adapt them as your project grows or changes.

Pages

In addition to customizable sections, the Kadence Design Library now allows you to easily import entire pages for home pages, about pages, service pages, and contact pages. When using the Kadence Theme, these will also inherit from the colors and fonts set in the Kadence Theme customizer to make building out new pages easier than ever before.

Access to Old Design Library and Wireframes

We know that many long time Kadence users have been using the older cloud libraries and may have favorite patterns that they’d like to use there. You can still get access to the older libraries, though they will no longer be the default available. Simply go to “Design Library” at the top of any post or page, and click the plus sign to the right of the new design library. There, you will add a design library “Connection URL” and its corresponding access key.

For the old wireframe library use:

https://wire.kadenceblocks.com using the connection key: wire

For the old Kadence library use:

https://cloud.kadenceblocks.com/ using the connection key: section

For Those Using Their Own Cloud Design Libraries

If you are a developer or designer using your own cloud design library using the Kadence Cloud plugin, your custom libraries are not affected. Updating Kadence Blocks to the new version of will not affect your library or your connections.

There are numerous providers of cloud design libraries using the Kadence Cloud plugin, and connections for those libraries will still work as designed. These are connected using the same method described above. If you already have a connection to an external library, that connection will be preserved and will continue to work in the way you’ve done so in the past.

Getting More Out of Design Libraries

Of course, this is just the start of what Kadence will be doing with design libraries. More patterns will continue to be added, both for free users and pro users, and we have great things in store for design libraries that will make building sites easier and faster than before. If you’re not on our newsletter, subscribe to be notified of new additions to Kadence Design Libraries. And if you’re still waiting to go pro, now is the perfect time to expand your design capabilities with either an Essential or Full Bundle.

    This looks great!

Does the new design library inherit colors from the Block themes theme.json file as well?

    Hi,

The new library looks pretty amazing and I really congratulate you that you have taken a step forward. I have already connected it and also the old one’s with kadence cloud info that you provided in the post.
However I can’t see the starter templates there, earlier the starter kits also used appear there but now it has been replaced with pages. Any plans to get them back?

Still to experiment with new pages designs.

    Thank you

Starter templates are all in the starter template plugin, which you can download in your plugin dashboard. For specific starter template pages, make sure you’ve got the starter templates plugin installed, then go into the page that you’re working on, go into Kadence options, then set library block visibility.

I’m really glad that you have introduced this new feature. Your page template library has been lacking compared to your competitors. All layouts are very similar, with only the theme being different, but the functionalities are practically the same. Therefore, this feature will allow for easier and faster website creation. Thank you for continuing to improve and evolve your product!

Well done the Kadence team. Fantastic work. 🙂

How do I access the previous starter themes – e.g. I’m using Yosemite on a current site I’m building and now I don’t have access to the different page templates from Yosemite.

    1. Kathy Zant Avatar

Make sure you’ve got the starter templates plugin installed, then go into the page that you’re working on, go into Kadence options, then set library block visibility.

Very nice! Just a small question: You show us examples like the first one: “Here’s an example for a landscaping business.”
However, the provided designs look more basic. Are these just examples you built / styled on your own to show us with the screenshots what’s possible – or are these screenshots also provided 1:1 within the Design Library?
    Thanks for clarification!

    1. Kathy Zant Avatar

These screenshots are examples of what can be done with the foundation of the design library. Much more is coming when Kadence AI is brought into the library.
