World War Z videogame on Z way? - report

Best-selling novel World War Z may be getting the videogame treatment sometime in the not-too-distant future.

According to a report by Silicon Era, Paramount Pictures has filed a trademark in the US for a spin-off of Max Brooks' zombie apocalypse book under the classification of "downloadable electronic game program, electronic game software, and video game cartridges/discs."

The studio is already turning the novel into a movie starring Brad Pitt due out next summer. There's no telling if this will coincide with the release of the film, or come out years later like the studio's similarly titled War of the Worlds - which evidently lead to plenty of "z"s for our John Bedford.

We've pressed Paramount for comment and will update as we find out more.
