Warzone best TEC-9 loadout: Our TEC-9 class setup recommendation and how to unlock the TEC-9 explained

Tec that.

Build the perfect Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone TEC-9 loadout with our class set up recommendation.

The TEC-9 is a new SMG that debuted during Season 5, arriving to both Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone.

Unlike many of the recent weapons to join this category, this is a semi-auto SMG, which means that you'll be the one firing each bullet. It can be done in quick succession, of course, but it's different in nature. That being said, it's no less deadly than the rest, and attachments can improve upon it.

This page will cover how to unlock the TEC-9 in the swiftest way possible, and the best TEC-9 loadout and TEC-9 class recommendations to make the most of it.

How to unlock the TEC-9 in Warzone

As it tends to be the norm with new weapons in the battle pass, the TEC-9 can be unlocked either by leveling up the battle pass or by purchasing a blueprint.

In order to unlock the TEC-9, you need to get to Tier 31 in the battle pass.

It's a rather straightforward task, albeit if a bit time-consuming. If you're playing Black Ops Cold War, we recommend you to complete 24/7 modes as well as Team Deathmatch playlists. They won't take long in terms of match length, and you can always get good XP from them, which makes for a good balance in terms of trade-offs.

If you're opting for Warzone alone, we highly recommend for you to choose Plunder over battle royale, as it will allow you to revive throughout the match and get most out of each session. But either battle royale or Rebirth modes will work just fine, too. Up to you!

Best Warzone TEC-9 loadout and attachments

Below are our recommendations for an optimal TEC-9 loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:

  • Muzzle: Full Auto Repeater (Unlocks at level 46)
  • Barrel: 4.9" Task Force (Unlocks at level 48)
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight (Unlocks at level 40)
  • Stock: Raider Stock (Unlocks at level 54)
  • Ammunition: STANAG 48 Rnd (Unlocks at level 34)

Starting with the muzzle, we're opting for the Full Auto Repeater. This will convert the TEC-9 into a full-auto SMG, as well as adding position concealment and improving sprint to fire time.

Let's move onto the barrel. We went for the 4.9" Task Force, which increases damage range as well as adding bullet velocity and strafe speed. In return, it trades off a hit to vertical and horizontal recoil control, but not by much.

As for the laser, you can't go wrong with the Tiger Team Spotlight, which increases movement and aim walking movement speeds. The laser will be visible to others, and your aiming stability is hit slightly, but it's worth the inclusion.

Choosing the Raider Stock will greatly balance the overall build by improving ADS firing move and aim walking movement speeds, as well as sprint to fire time. It comes with a cost to hip fire accuracy, but not by a large margin.

Lastly, opting for the STANAG 48 Rnd is the best choice for the weapon's ammunition. It decreases ADS time and reload quickness, but the 48 round mag is a must.

Best Warzone TEC-9 class setup, perks and equipment

Here's our choices for the best items - such as equipment and Perks - to make the best TEC-9 class setup in Warzone:

  • Perk 1: Quick Fix (Unlocks at level 42)
  • Perk 2: Overkill (Unlocks at level 38)
  • Perk 3: Amped (Unlocks at level 1)
  • Secondary: AK-47 CW (Unlocks by reaching player level 7)
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor (Unlocks at level 1)
  • Lethal: Claymore (Unlocks at level 1)

The TEC-9 has a more than decent fire rate, but when combined with the Full Auto Repeater, it won't take long to start taking down enemies. For this, we recommend starting health regeneration immediately after with Quick Fix. As per usual, if level 42 sounds a bit steep, we recommend opting for E.O.D., as it will help to mitigate damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire until you can unlock this perk.

We recommend opting for Overkill as the second perk. On this occasion we went for the AK-47 from Black Ops Cold War. Yes, there's also the Modern Warfare version, but the Cold War variant is one of the best assault rifles in the game right now, and one that will cover the long range side of things.

For the third perk, we went for Amped over the others to ensure that you're switching between the two weapons as swiftly as possible.

Lastly, the Heartbeat Sensor is a perfect companion to prepare yourself ahead of time or track anyone who dared to escape from your line of sight. In case anyone manages to sneak past your vicinity, however, having a Claymore placed near you should provide for a helping hand.
