Sony to gift PSN users two free games
Choose from a list of PS3, PSP titles.
Sony is going to offer PSN users two free games in the wake of last month's widely-publicised security breach.
A post on the European PlayStation Blog by communications chief Nick Caplin explained that both PlayStation 3 and PSP owners will get to choose from a short list of titles, though didn't specify which games will be included.
"We will be offering PSN users the opportunity to select two PS3 games from a list of five, as well as offering PSP users the opportunity to choose two games from a list of four," he wrote. "We will let you know exactly what games are available very soon."
As revealed earlier today, Sony is also working on a free identity protection scheme for European account holders, similar to one that has just gone live in the US.
On top of all that, all PSN customers will get 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership. Existing PS+ customers receive 30 days free. Qriocity subscribers receive 30 days free.
Meanwhile, there's still no word as to exactly when PSN service will resume.
"Please be assured that we are continuing to work around the clock to have some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services restored and will provide you with specific details shortly," said Caplin in the latest statement.
