Ubisoft has announced that another Prince of Persia game is currently in development for the Nintendo DS - and don't expect all the usual pole swinging, puzzle solving and enemy decking, because this one's all about turn-based card battling!

Battles of Prince of Persia takes place some time between the end of Sands of Time and the start of Warrior Within, when our hero accidentally unleashes an ancient evil whilst trying to exorcise that pesky old Dahaka. As a result war kicks off between Persia and India, and it's your job to control units and troops using a Tactics-type system and engage in a bit of the aforementioned card battling.

Single and multiplayer campaigns are promised, and you'll only need one cartridge to go head-to-head for wireless battles. The game will also feature wireless card trading, and hotseat play if you can't stretch to a second DS.

Battles of Prince of Persia is due out at the end of the year. We're not sure what this means for the previously mentioned Warrior Within title, but hopefully it means death. HORRIBLE DEATH.
