Datel is relaunching its Game Boy Player alternative, the Advance Game Port, adding Action Replay functionality to improve its capabilities. The new Advance Game Port is available to buy from the Codejunkies.com website for £29.99.

Much like Nintendo's own Game Boy Player in functionality terms, Advance Game Port allows players to run Game Boy Advance/SP games on any TV screen using the GameCube as a pad - the only differences being the form factor (AGP connects through a memory card port) and the lack of legacy support for older Game Boy titles, which is something we probably wouldn't miss.

This version adds the new Cheat Construction Kit to the package. As well as serving as a fully functional version of Datel's Action Replay cheat code device, allowing you to enter various codes found around the Internet (and mainly on www.codejunkies.com), as the name implies you can also use the special trainer function to create your own codes. In fact, you can find a guide to doing just that right here, using Rally-Z as an example.

Oh, and if you're nowhere near a PC screen when you're playing around with it, there's also a step-by-step DVD video chucked in to tutor you in the lounge. Pfft - it wasn't like this in our day! We had levers, photocopied pages, two-way bridge adapters. Technology hurts our memories...

Advance Game Port should be available right now.
