Activision's four for 360 launch
Also talks X-Men 3 and GUN PSP.
Activision announced its second quarter earnings this week, and in doing so spoke of its plans for the coming months - including its line-up for the US November 22nd (and subsequent European December 2nd) launch of the Xbox 360.
Four games will be ready for day one, the publisher reported - Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, GUN, Quake 4 and Call of Duty 2. Gamers on other platforms won't have to wait quite that long though - THAW (PS2/Xbox/Cube) and Quake 4 (PC) are already out, while CoD2 is due tomorrow on PC with GUN arriving a week later on PS2 and Xbox.
Speaking of GUN, Neversoft's free-roaming Wild West-'em-up, Activision also admitted that a PSP version is in development - but said that it won't be with us until sometime after March 31st 2006.
In other news, Activision's keeping up its successful relationship with Marvel Comics (which saw Ultimate Spider-Man and X-Men Legends 2 doing well for it this quarter), and planning to release a game based on the X-Men 3 film just in time to tie in with its cinematic release in late May.
It probably won't be as much interest to the likes of you, but the publisher also said it plans to make a game based on Dreamworks' latest animated effort Over the Hedge, which sees (or rather hears) Bruce Willis voicing the role of a raccoon grifter. Sounds touching.
