Mortal Kombat 11 datamine sounds a lot like a 1995 movie cast voice pack

Listen...

A Mortal Kombat 11 dataminer has unearthed evidence that points to a 1995 movie cast voice pack.

As GameRevolution reports, a YouTube channel called IX uploaded a video containing what sounded very much like Mortal Kombat 11 intro voice work from the actors who played Raiden, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade in the cult classic 1995 movie. That is, the voices of Christopher Lambert, Linden Ashby and Bridgette Wilson can be heard doing their take on existing Mortal Kombat 11 lines.

Adding legitimacy to this "leak", the video was blocked by publisher Warner Bros. on copyright grounds. But of course the internet noticed, and reddit has a copy.

So this was the leaked video that got taken down off YouTube from r/Mortalkombatleaks

And hot off the press, even more unreleased dialogue has been found:

Fans reckon this datamine suggests Mortal Kombat 11 is getting a 1995 movie cast voice pack. This wouldn't be a big surprise, given Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm convinced Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the actor who played the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung in the 1995 movie, to reprise his role for Mortal Kombat 11. And fantastic he was, too.

If this recent datamine proves true, it adds weight to a leak from a few months ago that mentioned the likes of movie Kitana, movie Liu Kang, movie Raiden, movie Shang Tsung and movie Johnny Cage were all set to hit the fighting game at some point. This leak also mentioned Harley Quinn, Smoke, Takeda, Michael Myers (from the Halloween films), Mileena, and Sektor were upcoming DLC characters.

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm are yet to make any announcements, but development chief Ed Boon has been having fun teasing fans on Twitter lately. Things have been quiet on the Mortal Kombat 11 front ever since the Aftermath expansion came out in May. Fans expect a Kombat Pack 3 full of new characters and other gubbins. Hopefully we get a rubber stamp soon.

Now, time to watch the best fight from the Mortal Kombat movie, once again...
