It's the press release that keeps on giving (and that I keep on failing to understand - perhaps I'll get the dates right on this one): Take Two's Q1 financial statement also clarifies release periods for various of the company's big upcoming games.

Borderlands, for instance, which is in development for PC, PS3 and 360 at Gearbox Software. It is listed as "fiscal 2009", which means start of November 2008 until end of October 2009.

In a break with tradition, Take Two virtually acknowledges this as a slip, telling investors that the change is "in order to allow additional development time for this highly anticipated game and provide a better balance in the release of Take-Two's triple-A titles".

Other titles listed for fiscal 2009 were BioShock 2 and GTA IV DLC, as mentioned, along with Mafia II (Take Two acquired the developer last month), and sports and kids titles.

In the meantime, fiscal 2008 includes Grand Theft Auto IV on 29th April, as everyone knows, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, Top Spin 3, Don King Presents: Prizefighter, Carnival Games and NBA titles, and a bit of episodic content for GTA.
