Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest Halloween event: How to search the galaxy for a ghost, Bloody Harvest rewards explained

Spooky events are occuring on the Sanctuary III.

Bloody Harvest is the seasonal Halloween event for Borderlands 3.

Take your favourite Vault Hunter to the terrifying realm of Heck to fight undead enemies and the skeletal Captain Haunt.

If you manage to survive, then you'll be rewarded. Maybe you'll receive a new Vault Hunter skin or even a legendary shotgun.

Bloody Harvest is a free event and will run from the spooky end of October to the festive beginning of December.

What to do in the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event, including 'search the galaxy for a ghost'

Throughout the Bloody Harvest event, you'll be able to encounter Haunted enemies across the Borderlands 3 galaxy.

All Haunted enemies will have a glow to them, allowing you to quickly spot them. Watch out though - Haunted enemies have the ability to inflict you with the Terror debuff, which will affect your aim by clouding your vision.

These are what you are looking for as part of the opening 'search the galaxy for a ghost' quest step.

Killing Haunted enemies will reward you with a new substance called, Hecktoplasm. Doing so will update your quest objective, requiring you to get 25 of these to continue the questline.

Take this Hecktoplasm to the Sanctuary III, where you'll find Maurice, a very chatty Saurain. Maurice will offer you a repeatable mission for you to complete throughout Bloody Harvest.

Using the Hecktoplasm, Maurice will be able to open a portal to Heck.

In Heck, you'll be able to fight against waves of undead Maliwan soldiers. Turns out the people you kill don't always stay dead...

These zombies are supported by a host of Rakk-o'-Lanterns (pumpkins that kill) and Ratch, who've clearly been reading The Rats by James Herbert.

If you manage to survive these enemies and reach the very heart of Heck, you'll be able to fight Captain Haunt.

Different Ghost Types for Bloody Harvest explained

There are three different types of ghosts for you to hunt down during Bloody Harvest. Ghosts can haunt both human enemies and the 'friendly' wildlife of the Borderlands solar system.

Regular ghosts can appear in any enemy and have a green glow. Once you've killed its host, this ghost will transform into a green skull and will fly towards you.

If don't kill a green Ghost in time it will either vanish or infect you with the Terror debuff.

Badass enemies can be haunted by Badass Ghosts, which give their victims a red glow. These ghosts appear as red skulls and will attack you with various fire attacks, until you destroy it.

Finally, if your lucky, you may encounter a Loot Ghost. These ghosts give the enemies they're haunting a gold glow and appear as a golden skull. This skull will begin to fly away from you, so make sure you chase it down, because it will drop some great loot.

All the ghosts will also drop one Hecktoplasm, which you must collect for Maurice.
