Assassin's Creed 3 co-op mode Wolf Pack revealed

UPDATE: First screenshots inside show howl it work.

UPDATE: Ubisoft has just sent Eurogamer the first screenshots of Wolf Pack mode. See the co-operative multiplayer offering in action below.

ORIGINAL STORY: Assassin's Creed 3 includes a team-based multiplayer mode named Wolf Pack.

It allows up to four players to work together to assassinate NPC targets.

25 waves of targets are offered, with assassinations growing more difficult over time. You'll race to take down your mark - or marks - against the clock, IGN revealed. Players will have to communicate and work together with others to reach the higher levels.

Otherwise, the mode looks very similar to existing Assassin's Creed multiplayer offerings. You'll chase down your target with the usual circular direction HUD. Extra points are awarded for stealthy or stylish kills.

The existence of online co-operative play in Assassin's Creed 3 was first leaked by Xbox.com earlier this year.

Ubisoft has also released newly-narrated footage of the game's single-player mode, showing over five minutes of gameplay from within the city of Boston.

The location has been recreated in 1:3 scale, with key landmarks authentically included. The rest of the landscape has been designed especially for the game.

The game's health system has been overhauled: potions have been removed, and health will not regenerate during combat scenarios. Players can also call in Assassin allies dressed as enemies to sneakily slip past guards.
