Back when pro-gaming was first getting started, it was the PGL rather than the CPL which seemed to be dominating the growing sport. Then the company behind it switched its focus to family games and the PGL went into limbo, recently being bought out by former PGL star player Dennis "Thresh" Fong and his company GX Media.

Thresh says that "we're looking at restarting it and are doing research on league structures like the NBA", adding that "we want the PGL to fit into our overall mission, which is helping people enjoy their games. How we can best achieve that, we haven't decided."

The comments were made by Thresh in an article about pro-gaming on GameSpot, which takes a look at the past, present and future of professional gaming as a sport.
