Where is the pier and how do you catch a Giant Trevally there?

Like the Tuna and Blue Marlin before it, Giant Trevally can only be caught off the pier in New Horizons. This is not the jetty where the airport is located on your island, but, instead, the small pier that is located on one of the beaches.

To make catching a Giant Trevally a little bit easier, make sure that you only fish for it at the end of the pier. This will ensure that you're not just catching the fish that can be found along the shoreline.

Make sure you fish on the pier.

Before you begin your Giant Trevally hunt, however, you're going to need to make a load of fish bait. An awful lot of fish bait.

To craft fish bait you need one manila clam, which can be found by digging patches of sand that spit water on the beach. When it comes to catching a Giant Trevally you're going to want at least 50 bags of fish bait and you'll probably have to make some more after using that too.

We recommend that you craft fish bait and attempt to catch a Giant Trevally in short sessions, rather than spending a whole day trying to catch one. This way it will prevent fishing from becoming boring and, if you keep going, you'll eventually have a Giant Trevally for your museum.

Giant Trevally can only be found in the waters surrounding your island between the months of May to October and can be caught at any time during the day.

Catching a Giant Trevally, like a Blue Marlin or Golden Trout, relies on a mixture of luck and resilience. (We're not kidding about the fish bait.)
