Of all the new minions added into Final Fantasy XIV with the release of Dawntrail, one stands out from the rest for two reasons — it’s probably the most adorable of the lot, and also has the hardest to pronounce (or spell) name.
Ilyikty’i is a tiny Leopard Cub who will follow you wherever you go, supporting you quietly during battle and cheering you on from the sidelines. It comes with simply the most adorable little toe beans and, thanks to the graphical update, it looks so fluffy that I want to put my face in its fur and forget the world. But I digress.
How to get the Ilyikty’i minion in Final Fantasy XIV
If you want to get your very own baby Ilyikty’i to follow you everywhere, you’ll need to dive right on into the Shared FATE grind in Dawntrail. Specifically, you’ll need to reach Rank 4 in Yak T’el by completing 66 FATEs in the area.
While completing these FATEs, you’ll stock up a good amount of Bicolor Gemstones. You’re going to need them, because once you reach Rank 4, you’ll need to spend 700 of them in order to purchase your own Ilyikty’i.
Once you have at least 66 FATEs completed and more than 700 Bicolor Gemstones to your name, head to Iq Br’aax and talk to Rral Wuruq (X:13.8, Y:12.7).
As well as this new glorious minion, you’ll also be able to purchase useful crafting materials which you can either use yourself or sell for a nice profit, and the Emerald Under Sapphire Orchestrion Roll as well.
As it’s a Shared FATE reward, Ilyikty’i is Market Prohibited and therefore cannot be sold or purchased on the Marketboard, so there is no way to get it outside of Shared FATEs.
