Catch 40 winks in Skyrim with this mod that lets you sleep in a chair

Let's hope the Dragonborn doesn't Dragonsnore.

Questing across Skyrim‘s vast and wintry landscape is tiring work for any adventurer. It’s a good job the game lets your character take a sleep then. But what if – horror of horrors – there aren’t any beds available, or you can’t afford a night in a tavern? You guessed it. Modding comes to the rescue once more.

We return to veteran Nexus Mods user JaySerpa, who, this time, has given us a way for the Dragonborn to catch some much-needed Z’s without the need for a bed. “Take a Nap” allows your character to get a little bit of sleep while sitting down, be it in a chair or on a bench.

The above video shows that it has more than just an extra sleep option. Animations show your character putting their head on the table, closing their eyes, and even waking up with back pain (resulting in reduced stamina for a bit).

“Look, pal, you can’t stay here!”

Of course, what kind of immersive mod would this be if it didn’t have some reactions from nearby NPCs? According to JaySerpa, patrons who notice you taking a nap at a table may have something to say. While some don’t seem to mind, others may take exception to you hogging up seating space with your snoring and drool.

Last week, the gaming world acknowledged 30 years of The Elder Scrolls series. Beginning life in 1994, Bethesda’s most prized IP has been a huge part of the fantasy RPG genre.

Skyrim is the latest in a growing list of TES installments. Unfortunately, it’s been with us for a long time now (over 12 years), with no sign of the next entry. Some of us are beginning to grow a little impatient. Luckily, there’s a dedicated modding community to keep us quiet for a bit longer.
