Amazon Prime Day 2024 is here (it's running over 16-17 July), and there are some great Prime Day MacBook deals around – many of them are even open to everyone, including non-Prime members. Highlights include the MacBook Air (M2, 2022) down from $999 to $799 at Amazon, surely the cheapest this model can get for now.
Meanwhile, the best MacBook Pro deal is a massive $500 off M3 Pro-chipped MacBook Pro, down from $2,499 to $1,999 at Amazon. This is definitely only for the pros, and will be overkill for the majority of users, but if you work in 3D or video editing, this is a very powerful laptop at a great price.
Neither of these deals are official Prime Day deals, so you won't need an Amazon Prime Day membership to take advantage of them. We've highlighted more MacBook Prime Day deals below. For any that are for Prime members only, be sure to make sure you get your 30-day free trial (if you're not a member already). And once you are a member, if you also love music, you can currently get 5 months free Amazon Music Unlimited.

MacBook Air deals - in detail
MacBook Air (M2, 13-inch, 2022): $999 $799 at Amazon
Save $200: This deal went live on 11 July. It was previously $100 off, so this $200 is, well, twice as good. That's just maths! It's also a splendid MacBook Air laptop, with super fast M2 chip, and it's perfect for creatives that want a portable laptop, thanks to its 13-inch size.
MacBook Air (M3, 2024): $1,099 $899 at Amazon
Save $200: The Air is the most popular of the MacBooks, because it's the most suitable for the majority of users. Yes, you can do a bit of video and photo editing on it, but not feature films (as with the Pro above). It's an all-round fantastic laptop for general work, streaming and design work. And this is the lowest price we've seen it at yet, so win win.
MacBook Air (M1, 2020): $750 $649 at Walmart
Save $101: Let me be clear – there have been two Air releases since this model came out. But I love this laptop. Everything came together for me. As a portable laptop for writing, photo editing and general work use, all in a sleek, light package, it's really hard to beat.
MacBook Pro deals - in detail
MacBook Pro 16 (M3 Pro): $2,499 $1,999 at Amazon Save $500: This deal is huge, even though it's creeped up $100 since yesterday. This M3 Pro-chipped MacBook Pro comes with 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU, 18GB RAM, 512GB SSD and a stunning 16-inch display. All that is to say, this is a Pro laptop for pros, and this price still easily beats the previous best deal, which was $2,199.
MacBook Pro (M3, 2023): $1,599 $1,399 at Amazon
Save $200: This deal has just got better. It was $1,499, and now you've got an extra $100 off during Prime Day. This particular deal is on the entry level 14.2-inch, 8GB, 512GB model.
FAQs
Are MacBooks part of Prime Day?
We don't yet know what laptops Amazon will have in its official Prime Day sale, but if all other previous years are anything to go by (and we think they are!) the answer is almost certainly 'yes'.
Also remember, even if there are no official Prime Day MacBook deals, the sale tends to be a good time to buy laptops as both Amazon and other retailers will have decent discounts on key products throughout the Prime period. Just look above for proof!
When is Prime Day 2024?
Prime Day 2024 will take place on July 16 and 17. However, days (even weeks) leading up to the official sale will see some good deals – and not for Prime members.
Do you need to be a Prime member for all the Prime deals?
Absolutely not. In fact, a majority of the deals that I've covered over the years are open to all, not just Prime members. However, you probably will find a deal that you really like that is only open to Prime members. For those, you can take advantage of Amazon's 30-day free trial (and cancel before it ends). And when you are a member, one of the best deals is...
Amazon Music Unlimited: 1 month free 5 months free
If you're a Prime member, you can claim 5 months free of Amazon's top tier music plan. That's the best audio quality, and a vast amount of music available. Non-members 'only' get 3 months free. Music lovers rejoice!
