Learn moreDuring the global Covid-19 pandemic, our Social Response Unit impacted more than 1 million lives. It also committed two million euros to support UNICEF’s work as part of the global Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator (ACT-A), with a focus on India and Brazil in particular.
While the unit has focused on the need of the hour – public health – a range of additional initiatives are planned to tackle further crises and their residual societal impacts. The vision is to leverage our technology, data, and creative expertise to help and support communities where we operate.
Through many different initiatives around the Group, we strive to protect and empower women. Here is one of our most recent examples.
To ensure the safety of women and children, victims of domestic violence and especially at risk during the first lockdown, we sheltered families at our Serge Kampf Les Fontaines Campus in France.
We leverage our technology expertise to contribute to different needs of patients, carers, and the healthcare industry at large.
In France, Capgemini supported the Public Assistance-Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) through the deployment of an application allowing remote monitoring of patients.
In India, we developed, with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, affordable, field deployable, rapid test kits for COVID-19. This made the test result available in just 10 minutes and at a lower cost.
In the Netherlands, we contributed advice and technical expertise to the cybersecurity coalition Wij Helpen Ziekenhuizen (“We Help Hospitals”) to ensure the continuity of the health sector and its carers.
Right across the globe, we contribute to the wellbeing of the communities in which we operate through hundreds of Group-wide and local initiatives.
In the US, we actively explored a solution to develop an infrastructure capacity tracker to help the homeless population find shelter, and track available beds and ventilators throughout the region.
In Norway, we supported municipalities by setting up a webpage for local businesses to upload their profiles to promote their offerings to communities in Oslo, Bergen, and Stavanger.
In Italy, we supported Fondazione Banco Alimentare ONLUS. This coordinates the Banco Alimentare Network and oversees the distribution of food to people and families in difficulty through the National Banco Alimentare’s municipal operations centers.
Since the very beginning of the global pandemic, Capgemini employees all around the world offered their time and their talent to help some of the most vulnerable communities in their time of need.
Our conviction is that there has never been a better time to leverage technology and human capabilities to tackle environment, social and governance (ESG) challenges.
