Failing Gaming Community

You guys really need to take a look at the overall toxicity that is currently plaguing D2. Not sure what’s happened from Lightfall to now but the overall behavior of folks, especially in LFG Groups, is getting really bad. The raid I just left damn near made me uninstall and I wasn’t even directly involved with any of the problems oddly enough. It’s the way “Pros” deal with the inexperienced players is what really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I mean I know there’s not much that can be done, I guess but hopefully y’all can develop some type of means to dealing with toxic/ragers/-blam!- gamers.

Been told to KMS by strangers in Trials because I'm still figuring out the maps and plays. Not everyone is like this, most people who play D2 are pretty silent and, usually, if you get to know them are pretty chill. But there are a few loud and proud toxic players who just have to let you know that you have skill issues. They're afraid they might lose a competition with you on even grounds. In reality they have huge mindset issues and god complexes reinforced by this game's reward system where the only gear actually worth using is only obtainable from endgame activities (and they insist on telling you otherwise, but then kick you for not having said gear). Honestly, the fact that raid guides need to explain how combining a circle and a square results in a cylinder should be a red flag on how condescending elitists in this game can really be. I could go on about how this community has a sportsmanship crisis, but I'd rather tell you my favorite experience I had in this game: taking an LFG blue-gear new light through Last Wish and sticking through until the end. I could've kicked him and just found another player who was properly equipped, but I decided to stick through with them and help them grasp the basics. When the rest of the fireteam gave up on us, I kept the dude in my fireteam and just started LFG-ing for others, and eventually, after learning the Riven cheese together, and a lot of Queenswalk wipes, we completed the raid. Until Bungie themselves address the core issues with the game, the best we can do is help each other out. Just know that there are some people who are willing to push through the worst so that you can win together. And that the elitists will never know the feeling of a well-earned victory the same way you do.
