Exotic class item is beyond to much grind
I must have done 50 overthrows and in that time I also open chest all around the place. I've done every one of those hands in every part of the pale Heart. I think I have about 30 or so of those blue seeds in my inventory leftover. So I've opened lots and lots of chests in the pale heart. And when I drop the class item all I seem to get is everything I don't want. I don't know how many times I've had some variation of that eternal Warrior And something. With repeats. I'm just bored of it nowIt would be good to not get a repeat of the a variation at least. All this is on one character I haven't even gone to the other 2. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Bungie you need to fix it where you don't get repeats And when you get it much quicker and easier. This class item is the most grindy thing destiny 2 has ever created and now it's getting to the pointIt may just not be worth it

But if they do, they will look for something else to mess up to fill in that void. It's in plain sight and has been for years. They don't solve problems, they create problems because of how they conditioned people to play the game. A lot of the changes to FS were designed to show numbers, not reward people for their time spent playing the game. It's always been this way, just nowhere near as bad as it is now.

7 Replies192 different variations with a 1 in 64 drop rate who'd of thought such tedious bs would kill the playerbase off so quick No duplicate protection on a quest that requires 2 guardians with mics, takes an average of 30 mins each run for one CANNOT FARM MISSION SOLO AT ALL SO HAVE TO RELY ON OTHERS, CARRIES,SHERPAS WHICH CAN BE FAILED RUNS EITHER WAY WHICH CAUSES MORE TIME SPENT IN GAME requires watching a tutorial on Web to be efficient enough not to be booted/kicked Or farm solo after doing the quest at the pale heart with still with no duplicate protection and rare drop rate Are YouTube prismatic build videos a meme atm ? yes they are because by time you get to try a build out after spending a lifetime to get the roll you want ,for it to probably end up being a build that bungie already hard nerfed

Just go with a roll that’s good enough. Expecting your perfect god roll to drop is too low a chance and just leads to frustration. I’m happy I have star eater for my void lock. The other perk is meh but that’s OK I do mad deeps.

The easiest way to get them is chest farming in The Landing. Load in, wait for the chests to spawn, do a lap of the area and then reload the area after you have opened 5 chests. It is by no means interesting gameplay, but you can turn your brain off and average a drop every 15 minutes or so, which is better than a typical run of the mission.

People these days have the attention spans of a common gold fish, and demand instant gratification for as near to zero effort as they can get. Farming exotic class items, once the mission is done, is one of the easiest AND fastest farms this game hs ever given us. And yet, like usual, it isn't *enough.* If I were BungLe, I'd throttle the drop rate to about 0.3% and actually say it's because yes, people are pathetically whiny, so here's a lesson in ACTUAL grinding.

weve had everything given to us with no effort put in to it for a couple years now. things should be a grind like this more often cuz this is how things used to be but now people throw a fit about it

9 RepliesI just dont understand why I just can't get it from collections. I mean outbreak and whisper are there after completing the mission. It's obvious Bungie didn't think this through. It should be craftable.

Edited by indo: 7/13/2024 4:54:40 PMI done so many Overthrows and Double Destiny. I only focused on my hunter because it’s my main. From the 64 possible rolls I got 56 but still not Calibans+Liars. The biggest issue is that there is no bad luck protection. You get so many doubles. I just don’t understand why they don’t fix that. If you always get one you don’t have it is already a big grind.

Funny how you say the Exotic Class Items require excessive grinding, yet you failed to include doing the one activity that gives them out guaranteed. How many runs of Dual Destiny do you think you could have done in the time it took you to do those fifty Overthrows? Why do people intentionally make things harder for themselves, then immediately complain that it's not fair?

1 ReplyI’ve got mixed feelings. I like to see more ways to get things to keep it from being super boring. However, lots of people find opening chests or running the same mission repeatedly to be engaging content and I wouldn’t want them to be disappointed by having alternatives to choose from.

Had the same prob, grinded my ..... of. But yesterday my godroll for the Warlock dropped (spirit of apotheosis, spirit of star eater) Thought it would never drop.

Don't do over throws. I get one about every 30 to 50 chests.

2 RepliesAnd in the mean time you completed some triumphs, got some feathers, visions of the traveler, completed seasonal challenges, leveled up the ghost, got some red borders, completed Pathfinders, planted all of the seeds, leveled up your season pass. Etc. The point is, as you were farming for a specific thing, you were also completing others at the same time. You didn't notice this because you were to focused on just getting the class item so you realize what you were doing. Playing the game the way it was intended. The point of this game is to replay the same content over and over again for better items.
