There’s been a lot of calling for increased drop rates for the class items - not without its merit, with a 1/64 chance to get the roll you want, and on average 25 mins for a class item drop, you’re looking at about 26 hours of grinding the pale heart activities to get one (assuming you don’t get it until that drop and not beyond)
It’s a difficult balance of making it a grind to incentivise playing vs getting the drop and stopping the need to grind which is the issue I believe behind the current drop rates.
I propose two potential solutions to this: -
Introduce a “harder” variation of dual destiny, adopt the approach of legendary “The Whisper” or “Zero Hour” and cut the time down - make the enemies hit a bit harder. It would make the timer tighter - perhaps making the crystals throughout actually helpful. To reflect the difficulty - instead of giving two drops - introduce a chance for a double perk in a column. Perhaps a 50% chance in either column, not guaranteeing it - but certainly reducing the amount of hours required. If this isn’t sufficient, add an additional, lower, chance to get double in each column, perhaps a 1/10 chance.
In addition to this - I’d propose that in the period following victory of an “Overthrow” - the chests have an increased chance to drop a class item. I couldn’t suggest a figure here - but any boost would be welcome to any extent, would just mean that there is a further incentive to grind overthrows out.
I don’t know how easy this would be to implement - I’m not a coder by any means - but thoughts? Perhaps with enough traction it could catch the eye of Bungie and then *maybe* we will see something similar!

Just enjoy the grind dude. When's the last time we had a really worth it grind in this game. I get you want the roll youre looking for but if it's over in a day you'll complain about a lack of content.

Tl;dr, don't want it to be harder for how long that 2 man mission already is. They need to up the % rng of Pale Heart chests, period.

Farm the regular pale heart chest, there's a cheese which speeds the process up.

It’s almost as if they wouldn’t have had to come up with solutions if they left the double class item bug stay…..
