I dont mean this post as insulting or provocative.
Despite all the bad balances, lack of content, mess of macrotransaction, fumble, the burden of pvp...I mean we all all know the list can go on. But why do we still play this instead of moving on?
Me personally, theres no other games catching my attention lol. Also it's still a good game on paper. The lore, the gunplay, abilities, I like them all. I think there's a smidge of hope I still have for a comeback, despite being it's final years.

If gears was like it was in gears1/2/3, I would’nt be.

You said it This game has an unhealthy amount of issues but the gunplay is just too good Even if my gun does noodle level of damage I like noodle So I don't mind about problems
-
I'm old and crotchety and like to take my frustrations out on pixelated aliens. Plus I like trolling the forums and I can't do that if I don't know what's going on in the game.
-
Well we all made a mistake by spending 50-100 bucks for deluxe DLCs which makes unbelievably difficult to quit
-
I enjoy the gun play and end game content. Invested so much time and money also with the game that it’s hard to let it go. Going to see it through. I’m hoping we get another dark subclass.

I like the gunplay. It's the one really good thing in the game. I like to shoot stuff every so often. And this is the only place I can do it without being arrested. Not interested in doing anything in the endgame really. It's just satisying to shoot things in Destiny. -
Edited by Astroniox: 7/11/2024 1:30:37 PMGunplay, movement, space magic, lore, music and co-op (especially raids). Its extremely addictive and i dont mind lol. No game can match Destiny.
-
Because, despite all the grumbling on here, there is simply no other game which does what Destiny does to the same level. Its lightning in a bottle.

It’s one of the few arcade FPS games left on the market that isn’t a battle royal and (at least at the lower end of pvp) is fast paced with good movement. Besides this game, the only other FPS that grabs my attention is The Finals which I also play and enjoy for the same reasons.

Just waiting for other games I’m interested in to get released, then I’m probably done with this game. In fact I had stopped playing but was duped into pre-ordering the Final Shape and playing again. Going to get my money’s worth then I’m done. Don’t even care about episode 2 or whatever.

As disappointing as the game can be, it's nice to look forward to the weekly reset and the story with whatever it brings and also Xur, even though he is pretty bland. Mainly for me it's the PvP but more the sniping specifically. Nothing like hoping on and clicking heads with a sniper after a stressful day and working on improving my aim and skill as a player. Lately though, the game has felt pretty old. Final Shape dropped, I grinded it out but feel like I can't be bothered to do the raid, get Microcosm and complete the dreaded Dual Destiny.

I check back weekly to see if anything has changed or been announced, but honestly I don’t see myself coming back. Around the time the Legendary Vexcalibur mission dropped I could tell that Bungie was intent on pushing all the difficulty levers higher and turning all the switches to extend gameplay times. I pushed through it though because my friends still played. Fast forward to TFS and now every mini boss and higher has three immune phases. Extra mechanics are added all over to pad play time. And how many more times am I going to be given the “gift” of grinding out the same gun model with slightly different perks or I do an exotic mission right before Bungie nerfs it into the ground- but not before every streamer has three build videos around it? I’ve pretty much stopped since all my friends quit after the raid race. I’m glad I played TFS just to see the “end” of things, but realized I’m not the target audience for the game anymore. And that’s fine, Bungie is able to cater the game to the play styles of the audience they want. I have hope that someday another gem like Destiny will come along and I can play it with my kids. But hopefully the developer making it cares more about the game they are making than how to scrape every last cent and second out of the player.

I don’t, but the forum posts are funny sometimes so I stick around.

I have fun with friends
-
I play this game because it has good gameplay and has crossplay....if it did not have cross play then I would drop it.

Because I’m a adult and live my life how I want

Edited by llehctim787: 7/11/2024 4:24:50 PMA lot of people I know treat this game as a job instead of a hobby. They don’t have as much fun as I do and don’t like doing little things due to no real rewards but to me 99% of my rewards is trash anyway so I play for fun casually. Gun play is one of the best in the genre and I doubt we will see another clone that pulls it off better than Destiny

I've moved on three or more times now. For years even. But the casual-level of play in this game is phenomenal. The game has great bones. It's all the rotten meat people take issue with. -
I started playing during TDB, my son needed a warlock on his fireteam so they could cheese the oracle encounter in VoG lol. I still play because it’s the only game I’ve found where I can always find something to do to kill time. I play many other games but I don’t care about trophies or crap like that so once I’m done the story I’m pretty much done with the game. Also I’ve been a gamer since the Atari 2600 and I’ve yet to find another company that can make a game feel the way Bungie does, the closest I can think of was Insomniac’s Resistance games, they were pretty close to feeling like Halo did back then.
-
I don't really play much anymore, but I stick around on the forums in hopes that the game will eventually get to a better place and give me a reason to hop on again. I usually play a bit around the release of a new DLC or when a new season catches my eye, but I rarely stick around for long.

I’m bored and need something to do
-
I just play a few rounds of control now and again . Stopped after a couple of weeks when FS dropped , just got bored with pve .
-
I had a two year break and my Ps5 was collecting dust I usually lose interest and try to find another game . I found Ghost of Tsushima… freakn loved it . I tried a few others and was not impressed for this generation , Destiny clawed me back in with its social gaming . It has everything … still pisses me off at times and not much has changed .

As soon as they nerf my little buddy I’m out. For good. So much ability bullshit in this game and the little stationary clone is getting fked with. Between bash and pocket and damn freeze and strike, dash, thrusters, snap skate, S charge, tempest they can bit me. I really hate that these guys have no clue wtf is going out there. Number crunches!

Mess of micro transactions? What’s the mess ? lol

This game has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. I meant my girlfriend when I was 15 during the Taken King because of Destiny. We’ve been together for 8 years now. Got married last year and still play Destiny everyday together. I met one of if not my closest friend 5 years ago because of LFG running Garden. The gameplay is unlike any other. No game comes close to as satisfying or just addictive. Raids, Dungeons, GMs, Build Crafting. No other game has been able to mimic it or make it better I used to love playing PvP competitively back in Destiny 1. Wasn’t the best but I was in Trials or Skirmish as much as I could or had time to. I can’t really be bothered now. I do sincerely miss the love of PvP
