9 Kinectic Pinnacles in row at 2000
The more things change the more they stay the same. Could use anything else bungie, just the same 3 slots and 9 kinetics in two week period. This will be my last year.

Yeah, kinetic slot seems to be weighted for iron banner ar least! I had something similar happen, but I would still say that hitting max light is easier on the new basis... having gear split across 3 characters means you don't need to grind pinnicles for the final drops on each, and this is big. Once powerfuls drop at 2000, then getting individual characters from 1999 to 2000 is much quicker, and plenty of infusion fuel along the way!! This is just by bungie standards; does the levelling up system need to be so unnecessary? For a power level system that ultimately doesn't achieve much? No, not really, and not by a long shot... it is just time gating content, in a manner of speaking. 'This is the way'

I’d rather attribute it to incompetence, but I think that you have enough evidence to support the “deliberate argument”, so I’ll concur. My own experience is slightly more varied. Just need arms, class item and energy for 2000. I received two helmets, 2 kinetics, 2 power, 1 boots and a chest piece I actually needed. At this point in the grind it should be only items you need to reach 2000 that should drop. The grind is annoying from 1990 to 2000. It always has been and we have become accustomed to not having to do it. Given the moronic changes to -5 levels in normal content still being doubled down on by Bungle HQ, I ask myself what is the point?

I think I read Bungie saying previously that they were simplifying the pinnacle grind but I am finding the grind for pinnacles worse than ever.

2 RepliesLook people need to understand this… This game has a time baiting RNG formula. No is no such thing as pure RNG in Destiny. There are layers and layers of RNG protocol and triggers. All of that is irrelevant because Bungie could absolutely design smart loot for LL but they won’t. They want you to get 8 pinnacles you don’t need so you will run more

Ive only made it through half of my iron banner challenges so far (4 on each character) and all 5 of them have been tusk of the boar..

All 4 of my IB "pinnacles" were 2-3 points below what I already had in that slot.

I have the same problem. I'm one armor piece away. Every day I hope the new pinnacle from IB will be it but it isn't. Every day...

Don’t even think about pinnacles, it’s pointless. They do this over and over, been doing it for years. I don’t even care about my light level, I can do a GM, all’s good.

This is exactly why they did away with the pinnacle chase. They were catching so much flak over the lack of bad luck protection. Never receiving the drop, going weeks waiting for that last piece to finish your gear to max light level. Never getting that exotic drop from the raid or dungeon. Bungie is the worst at this kind of programing because they never even try to solve the puzzle.

Been perusing the forum for the lifetime of D2 and it's always the same bungie surely could code activities like dungeons and raids that once you've had a slot drop in that run it's eliminated from the drop pool until you refresh the run

I got 5 helmets in a row. Currently on a 3 streak with class item. Hoping they release an emblem tracker for this.
