Excellent sound quality for the price. Bought as a secondary pair of speakers for my den and an upgrade to existing Edifier DB2000 active speakers - connected to a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Ortofon blue stylus.
What an upgrade - punchy soundstage and excellent separation when playing records (Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, QOTSA, UNKLE, Supertramp, to name a few). The detail and clarity are not far off my main speakers (Whafedale Evo 4.4). As others have said, no need for a sub-woofer here and the build quality is excellent (feel the weight)!!

Best sounding speakers for the price.
Got them couple weeks ago and wanted to run them in properly before reviewing. As a source I'm using latest Yamaha TT-N 503 networked turntable as my music is 80/20% streaming/vinyl and Google Chromecast Music. Back to Edifier, with hand on my heart I can recommend those speakers, they sound very very good and I dare you to find traditional set-up amplifier plus passive speakers that sound that good under 600 pounds. The only issue I have is they can sound boomy, so my bass is set on -6db. After years of messing with cables, different amplifiers and speakers I have found sound I like, but sound is only one thing another is wireless connection between them, never had any problems with it and now believe me or not I'm running three power cords and that's it. I highly recommend feeding them with good quality recordings, Tidal Hi Fi will sound absolutely amazing on these, and to proof I know what I'm saying here's list of my previous equipment.Yamaha AS2100+Yamaha NS-F700Marantz PM8000+ MA Gold 50Pioneer A-A6+ Q Acoustics Concept 40Yamaha A-X890 + Monitor Audio GS10and these Edifiers sound as good.
