  1. If I buy the $39 Multilingual Blog , can I later upgrade to the $99 Multilingual CMS paying the difference or will I have to make a totally new purchase?

    thank you

    • Hello,
yes, you can make an upgrade, and our system allows this and will calculate the difference, no need to buy again.

  2. Hello,

I bought the Multilingual CMS WPML plugin for 3 domains and now it has expired and won’t let me add a domain. I have only used 2 domains. There is no right that doesn’t let me add another domain. Purchase the plugin to use with 3 domains. And I’ve only used it on 2 domains. I hope a solution. It’s not fair.

    Thanks

    • Hello,
Thank you for expressing your opinion. I will share this feedback with our management. I’m sorry but this is how WPML works and it’s covered in the terms of use. Please check the “What Happens If You Don’t Renew” section: If you don’t renew your subscription after a year, you can still log into your account, however, you will: (…) Not be able to register new sites even if you still have available slots

  3. I have purchased WPML Multilangual CMS abd you can fine the information below:
I did not receive any email about registration and use the Plug in.
Your help would be generally appreciated.

  4. Hello Agnes,
thanks for the answer. Thanks, it is not that obvious from the start, but I found the copy function and figured out that automatic the translations with ChtGTP + Make.com is a way to get them in.

And I don’t wanted to “downgrade” your product. Just encourage that you would do your customers a big service, and that it would be a sought after feature, if you would enable Claude and chatGTP. I get that it is likely about your revenue source, but I think there are other ways you could add the value people would pay for.

Just to give you an example, what triggered my response:
The system pushed me into the auto translation for my privacy policy (since it is your standard behavior, if someone clicks on the button to add another language version.)

You system would have needed 6000 credits for that alone.

Doing it with ChatGTP gave me a higher quality translation, also with the complete WordPress formatting you mentioned: Just add: “please format in HTML, or in WordPress markup” to your prompt, and it will be done flawlessly.

But not only that, 3 words more, and it not only gives me a top 1:1 translations, a few words more, and it also adjusts the translation to the correct “Legal language” for the given country, and even adds all new legal paragraphs, that are needed to reflect a proper policy when it comes to US vs EU (80% of attorney work is also basically gone, like creating legal texts).

And the whole thing did cost me 0 cents.

So, it was not in bad faith to mention that such translation services are dead now, and also can not possibly keep up with the translation quality of an LLM, too, since it can translate it one to one, but can also SEO or marketing optimize the text instantly, or behave as a translator who also adjust the text for the cultural background of the language you translate in etc.

I would really encourage to add ChatGTP, and just add a few pre-set prompts, you can select, like the mentioned above, if someone wants to tweak the translation, if you want to have it “on rails”. Would be far superior, and you could still charge something, more reasonable, and add extra services on top.
The only reason the current translation business is still working is, because there are still a lot AI-illiterate people, but that will also change.

    Kind regards.

We are instantly working on improving the translation quality. We have the glossary system, we have the translation memory mechanism, we have pre- and post- processing of your content to handle WordPress formatting (bolding, italics etc) and internal/external links embedded in your WordPress content, WordPress shortcodes and other stuff. It’s more than just connecting to DeepL or Google Translate. Plus, we are working on new features such as AI assistance etc. BTW, to translate 100 000 words with the Pay-as-you-go you will pay €102.00 EUR. Using automatic translation with WPML is optional and many clients buy WPML for other reason and use automatic translation only when it’s necessarily.

  6. Hello.
My website is in English, but I would like to translate it into Norwegian and German. When the user chooses their language and writes that language on messages, reviews, the listing, it must be able to be translated automatically into English when you choose English language on the page. I also want to be able to translate whole pages at a time. I need it to be good SEO. Need WooCommerce and regular mail to be translated into the language the user chooses on the browser. Needs the website to automatically select the language according to the browser’s language. Do you have these functions?

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
From your description it looks like this is kind of a listing website where users can post ads online. Is this correct? If so, I would need to know what theme/plugin you use to handle this functionality. WordPress itself cannot handle listings and make such a site multilingual ready we need to provide special compatibility support. I will check if this theme/plugin is compatible with WPML. Listing sites are more challenging to make them multilingual compared to other sites.
You say “When the user (…) writes that language on messages, reviews, the listing,” If you expect the automatic translation to be triggered immediately by the front-end user action, it might not be possible with WPML. Why: this is how WPML works: you need to translate all your content on the backend first to be available on the front-end. That’s why I would need to understand how your site works, what theme/plugin you uses and if indeed you expect a front-end action to trigger the automatic translation.
WPML is compatible with the popular SEO plugins and also with WooCommerce. WooCommerce emails can be translated to other languages too.
Yes, you can set WPML to automatically select the language according to the browser’s language but this feature is disabled by default.
Please let me know what is your listing theme/plugin and I will check the details. Thank you.

  7. Hi again.

Thanks for the answers. The website use HivePress(RentalHive) plugin. The website I have built is a marketplace where people can rent or rent out parking spaces. If people write the listings in another that the website original language, I have to translate them to English myself so that it can show in the language they choose? And it is not possible to translate it in the front-end so that I can see the whole page and translate the text immediately?

    • Thank you for sharing the name of the plugin. I’m sorry to say it but WPML is not compatible with HivePress. Software for marketplaces, directories and classifieds sites usually requires some additional cooperation between us and the authors to achieve full compatibility.
Yes, using WPML you translate the content on the backend by triggering an action (for example, selecting posts, pages, ads, etc in bulk or individually and clicking “translate automatically”). Only after these translation will appear on the front-end.

  8. Hi, we are trying to purchase WPML Multilingual CMS. After entering the card information and placing the order, an error message shows up saying “The card was declined.” We have entered the card information multiple times, ensuring it was correct every time, but the error message persists. The card is working correctly, we have made other online purchases today with this card and we didn’t have any problems. We haven’t exceeded our card limit for online purchases and we have enough money on the card. We have tried using Google Chrome and Safari, none worked. We need to purchase WPML today with this card, can you help?

  9. Hi

I already have a WPML Multilingual Blog license.
But now I want to buy a completely new license “WPML Multilingual CMS” for one of our client.
Now from pricing page when I add that package and go to checkout page, it says total bill is only $44.

I need to know why that is happening. Shouldn’t it be $99. I want $99 receipt/invoice. As I need to bill that to my client.

    Thank you in advance.

    • Hello,
If you are upgrading your account, you will be charged for the difference only.
If you want to buy a brand new CMS subscription for the full amount you will need to do it using another email address so that a new account is created.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      Kind regards,

  10. I just want to confirm if I go with the Multilingual CMS Plan, the complete solution for multilingual WordPress.

Will I need to purchase the WooCommerce addon separately, or can I add this addon in the same purchase? Also, please tell me if I don’t have credits for automatic string translation, will I still be able to translate any string using WPML?

Lastly, will I be able to make Hebrew the default language if I go with WPML? Currently, my site is in English.

  11. Pre-purchase questions. If we firstly choose Multilingual Blog package and after that can we upgrade to Multilingual CMS? Or we will need to purchase Multilingual CMS package again?

    • Hello,
we provide the “upgrade” option as well which means you can start with the Blog package and then upgrade to the CMS package – you will see this option in your WPML account. So no, need to purchase again. When upgrading our system will calculate the difference between what you have already paid and the price of the package you are upgrading to.

  12. Hello,
we have a license and under “Extensions” says:

WPML is registered on this site. Your Lifetime account gives you updates for life.

We want to change the license to another domain. It is possible to unregister from one domain and register in another?
    How to do this?

    Thanks in advance
    Xavier

    • Hello,
You say “We want to change the license to another domain” and I’m not sure if I understand your request/intention correctly. If you want to unregister your domain and register it with a new key assigned to a diffrent WPML account, you can do so at any time by following these steps:
      1. On your WordPress site, please go to Plugins > Add new > Commercial
      2. Unregister the site
      3. Register the site again with a diffrent WPML account – when generating the new key, please make sure you are logged into the WPML account you want to be associated with that site.
However, if your intention is to change the email address of your WPML account, the procedure is different. To do so, you would need to contact us directly through this form.

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML. You need to use translation credits when you translate something for the first time or when you change your original content. In this case (making edits to the content that has been translated), you will need to use credits only for the sentences that have changed. In practice, this means that you will need a lot of credits when you translate your site for the first time and use only some credits later.
Yes, with the Pay-as-you-go option, you will get 2000 credits for free every month.
Yes, the ‘Next 1,100,000’ price only counts if you use that many credits in that month.

  13. Hi Agnes,
thanks for your reply. SO i should purchase this one:

    Multilingual CMS
The complete solution for multilingual WordPress for 99. Is it once payment or yearly?

Actually i’m doing a manual translation so probably i can purchase only this one:

    Multilingual Blog
The basic option for multilingual WordPress blogs for 39

    Regards,
    A.

    • This are yearly payments but renewals are optional and needed if you want to have access to plugin updates and our support assistance. Please check this page for details: https://wpml.org/purchase/wpml-renewal/
If you plan to translate your site manually, yes, you can start with the Blog package instead of buying the CMS package but there will be some limitations for the Enfold users. For example, if you make any change to your original layout (e.g. change the order of your section or add a new section), you will need to do the same change for the other language(s). This is because you will be translating your pages using the WordPress editor. When you use the CMS package, the WPML’s translation editor is used which allows you to deal with only with the texts to translate and not the Enfold layouts. That’s why we recommend the CMS package for Enfold users.

  14. Hello,

I had bought WPML back in the day and I was wondering if there is any chance to get a discount coupon prior to buying it again.

    Doesn’t hurt to ask, I guess. 🙂

    Thanks, so much

    • Hello Nikitas,
I see you bought a Blog subscription back in 2013. I am afraid we don’t have any discount for returning clients. Only for users who keep their subscription active and pay for renewals. You are welcome to log in to your account and buy a new subscription for the full amount again.

      Kind regards,

  15. Hi Agnes,
ok i got the dirrerence. I can start with the cheaper and then decide to upgrade. I read it’s possible is it?

What i need to be sure is to be able to insert the Languages’ menus in their language. As noe Enfold gives me only a Main menù and with Polylang it doesn’t work in a proper way.

    regards,
    Alessandro

    • Hello,
If you use the regular menu, added via the Appearance > Menu, yes, you can add the language switcher to the menu. It will work with the Blog package too. By default, the language switcher will be added to the footer.

  16. Hello!

My site is in Brazilian Portuguese and I am translating some of its pages to English. I would like all browser languages other than Portuguese and/or geolocations outside of Brazil (and perhaps Portugal) to automatically show these pages in English (and only the pages/posts I have manually translated). I am not looking for multilanguage tranlation at this point. Can this be done with WPML?

    Thanks!

  17. Hi Agnes,
thanks. My question was about the option to be able to add others main menù. I need to add 4 Main Menu apart the one given by default.

The language switcher can then be moved from the footer to the Main menu i guess, right?

  18. Hi Agnes
my question wasn’t for the language switcher. I need to know before purchasing it if i will be able to add more Main Menu to Enfold theme. By default it accepts only 1 Main Menu but i have to add 4 Many menu more so far, 1 for each language, and then place them in any page of their respective language. Is that possible please?

    Regards,
    A.

    • WPML itself doesn’t allow you to add menus. This is something you do with your WordPress features. WPML allows you to add the language switch to any of your existing menus.
