• Very easy set-up and works out of the box!

Suggestion: Currently it creates users with a username based on email, this is worrying for privacy reasons. Although we can provide option to change username using a Username Changer plugin. Can you add option (hopefully default) that generates “safer” usernames? Some ideas:

    1. A few characters of email (6-8) followed by a 4-digit random number.
    2. A random string or UUID.

These may not look pretty, but it’s much safer as default and using a username changer plugin, there’s an alternative for users who don’t like the username.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand your privacy concerns and we can definitely hide usernames.

If you are currently logging in with Firebase usernames, this won’t be possible as if we map randomly generated username to the username field, our plugin won’t be able to find the same account on next login, as the username was created with random UUID.

If you want to allow users to log in only via email (and not from their username), then we can do such settings. This will need some changes in the plugin as currently, we allow to login via both username and email.

Please send us a request from the plugin support form if you want to have a customized version to disable username login and map username to user_id or random UUID.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Team miniOrange
