Why WordPress can’t automatically create a sitemap

    WordPress will automatically create a site map after version 5.5, but my WordPress version is version 6.4.4, but it cannot be created automatically. what is the reason? Can I only use third-party plugins?

    Hello!

    Depending on which SEO plugin you use, they may offer you to select the output of the default sitemap. This is not a standard feature, but we do offer that with The SEO Framework.

    With TSF, you can toggle off the “optimized sitemap” by going to “SEO Settings > Sitemap Settings > General > Sitemap Output.” After toggling it off and saving the SEO settings, you should be able to access the default WordPress sitemap — there’s a new link under the toggle that leads directly to the sitemap. You may need to resave the permalink settings at “Settings > Permalinks” for the sitemap to show up; other plugins may be causing conflicts with that.
