Theme doesnt load (white page)

    Hi,

    I manually restored my homepage on a new server and it isnt working anymore.
    The apache error log gives me this message:

    PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_script_add_data() in /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/functions.php on line 670, referer: https://”homepage-name”/wp-admin/

    lines in function.php:

    669 if ( is_singular() && comments_open() && get_option( ‘thread_comments’ ) ) {
    670
    671 wp_enqueue_script( ‘comment-reply’ );

    }

    I tried a different theme (twenty fifteen) and it works fine and no errors occur in the error.log.

    Zerif Lite version: 1.8.5.30
    PHP-Version: 5.6.30
    Server OS: Debian 8

    Hello @thebluewombat,

    I am sorry to hear this.

    It seems your theme is not properly installed on new server. you need to update/reinstall the fresh theme.

    You need to connect with FTP and update/reinstall the theme. or

    You can go to WordPress dashboard and activate the different theme and then delete the current Zerif lite theme and download fresh Zerif lite theme and reinstall and activate it.

    Thx for your quick response.

    Reinstalling the theme doesnt help. I still get the error message and the theme doesnt work.
    When I try to customize the zerif lite theme, I get this message in the error.log:

    PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Customize_Manager:register_panel_type() in /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/inc/customizer.php on line 89, referer: “homepage-name”/wp-admin/themes.php?activated=true

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us.

    Please update your WordPress to latest WordPress version 4.8.3 and it would fix the issue.

    please refer this document to update WordPress https://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress

    Thx for your quick response.

    I did that. Now the frontpage isnt white anymore, but it still doesent show the homepage the right way.

    Here is a screenshot. I put the homepage offline, that I dont get messages about problems with the homepage, so I hope that is helpfull enough. If not, tell me and I will put it back up.

    hello @poonam9,

    I still have that problem. I think something went wrong with the manual update I was forced to do to get the latest Versions of WordPress etc., but I couldnt figure it out yet.
    This is the website.
