Since January, we have encountered numerous bugs on WordPress. Initially, we faced a high number of bot IP addresses visiting the site, causing it to crash.
We consequently modified our robots.txt file. Additionally, we installed Varnish on our dedicated cloud server at Infomaniak.
Subsequently, we began experiencing 503 errors indicating server overload. We discovered that since January 2024, we have been experiencing JavaScript errors, as according to Infomaniak, the two most accessed JavaScript files were:
ns/woocommerce/assets/client/blocks/wc-settings.js
ns/wp-staging/assets/js/dist/wpstg-blank-loader.js
Two images also seem to be problematic, but I’m unsure if they are related:
uploads/2022/01/hendricks-neptunia-2022-600×600.png
/01/BottleWith_NoReflection_NoBackdground-copy.png
However, WordPress and its extensions are up to date. The bugs mainly occur when the site crashes after opening numerous pages (for order confirmations) or during exports.

First, keep in mind that robots.txt is more like guidelines than actual rules. The file is important, because good bots (like spiders from reputable search engines) will respect it, but there is no requirement for bots to respect it.

If you’re getting these hits from bad bots, then your only options are to block their user agents, block their IPs, or use a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/blackhole-bad-bots/
