Thank you for looking into this @vit-1 🙂 I’m afraid there’s a little more to this.
@scouserdave your site is accessible via both HTTPS as HTTP. The website home address is probably set based on the request via a wp-config.php
constant (e.g. WP_HOME
).
Search engines tend to crawl HTTPS before HTTP nowadays, and it is probably why your sitemap was hit via an HTTPS request earlier. This request caused TSF to generate its URLs with the HTTPS scheme. Once generated, the sitemap is cached in your database until the next update (or after 7 days). It is why it all “seems okay” for now.
You can work around this issue by setting your preferred canonical URL scheme (HTTP) at “SEO Settings -> General -> Scheme Settings”.
